501  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / stripes and shawls on: January 02, 2012 12:39:59 PM

this scarf was made to go with the ripley hat i posted on the knitting board. I was made with out a pattern its just ch250, and nine or then rows of DC

sweet november scarf/shawl

i made it while at my moms house with limited supplies. i just keep crocheting rows for about five hours. so its not that big.

i really have no one for these shoes to go to it was a part of my cover to cover booklet. Im not sure if it was just me or what but these look like little boats. they might look differnt on a baby's feet.

I made this hat twice in the slouchy version i wanted to try the smaller beanie hat. It kinda smashes my hair a bit and is a little tight. but the person im making it for has different hair so it shouldnt be an issue.

i'll try my hand at it, also apart of the 50 projects list.

I'm in!  I have a lot of stuff that I've been putting on the back burner because of school and what-not.

Color: White working on a white shawl already
Pattern: Stripes- i have a quilt in my WIP's that might work
For: After all the holiday mayhem, you deserve something for yourself. if i finish the quilt it could be for me or i could work on a pair of mitten/ hat for me
Challenge: It's time to take stock of your stash. Spend some time looking at what you have, and maybe make some goals for the coming year. i have a lot less stuff then i did last year. but still have a closet and lots of little boxes around the house

1. I made her with size 3 needles and that made for a very large doll. the dress is a smaller version of 5$ in paris my go to sweater pattern. the hair is hooked in strand by strand, then knotted, i did french braids.

2. I went down to size 2 needles. her dress is a crocheted tube then tulle sewn to it. I twisted her hair, and cut it short.

3. size 2 needles. her dress is sewn, the flaw with the dress is i didnt know how to get it on and off so i used loose straps. the issue with that is the dress sat to low so i had to make a tiny bow in the back to hold the straps together. the little girl is smart im sure she will figure out how to redo it if it gets undone, is what im telling myself. the hair it took a while. link to how the curls are made here then each strand was sewn in rows. so if a string is pulled out you dont lose all the hair.

thanks for looking Kiss

510  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 50 projects in 2011 on: December 20, 2011 06:50:35 PM

i started by going around the head. i used a crochet hook to go under one stitch then made a knot to keep the hair in place. then went under  every fouth stitch  acrossed and down. the first doll i just made french braids down. the second doll i made tiny twist with the two  strands of yarn and made a knot at the bottom of the twist.

the pattern says to make the hair like you would make a pom pom basicly and sew the hair to the doll. I think my way makes for more hair to play with
