23  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: First time with polymer clay (LOTS of photos) on: April 07, 2010 03:15:37 AM
trebleclef: I got the colors just by mixing different colored clay, except for the croissants. They are actually the same color of the cookies, I used powdered soft pastels and a soft paintbrush to give them a more "baked" look, just like they do in this tutorial i found: http://www.cdhm.org/tutorials/learn-to-make-miniature-bread.html

Thank you all for your comments!

I saw so many wonderful things made of polymer clay here on Craftster that I had to give it a try, too.
Here is the result:

Some closeups:

(Now that I pay attention to it, those have to be some veeeery big strawberries if compared to the orange slices...  Embarrassed Oh, well.)

The smaller, the cuter  Smiley

Aaaand one last group shot

Actually I am not sure what to make of them.. maybe stitch markers or keyrings?
Sorry for the photo overload, C&Cs extremely welcome!
Thanks for looking!

Craftster admins, it's cool that you do April Fools' stuff, but can you please start it earlier. America is pretty much at the end of the timezones, and for the rest of the world April 1 is over.

It would be nice for the rext of us to share in the joke sometimes. We can think back to 'oh, it was April Fools' yesterday' so surely American Craftsters could think 'oh, it's April Fools' in a few hours' in exactly the same way.

Even if you did this occasionally, not every year, it would be nice for the Non-American folks. Craftster can be USA-centric at times.

I TOTALLY agree with you schnerby, this is such an unfair discrimination. Maybe we could establish an alternative website just to celebrate our festivities in the right time zone. Who needs Craftster after all?

But since I'm getting married in September I'd really like to ask for your help with my wedding centerpieces

Wow!  I'm absolutely flattered!  I'd love to help.

That's GREAT! I love how classy and refined your centerpieces are. I'd just add some more feathers, and maybe some gold paint. And glitter. What about glitter?

I wish we had the time, energy and resources to do something for April Fools this year. Sad  Oh, well.  There is always next year, I suppose.

If you did, I didn't notice.

Ups, sorry, I misunderstood! I thought that the macrame layout was part of this year joke, now I realize that the first post is dated 2009 (now I understand WHY it looked so familar  Grin )

I just wanted to thank all moderators for making my day!!!  Grin

I spent the last hour or so in front of my computer, getting inspired by your unique projects and laughing out loud while reading all the comments!

This was the first post I read today
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=343078.0;all
and I MUST ADMIT that for a minute I got slightly puzzled, then while trying to write the most tactful reply I realized what was actually happening  Smiley

Sadly, I didn't make it in time to see the MacrameNet.net layout (in this moment is still April 1st here in Italy but clearly not in the US  Smiley ) but I enjoyed the screenshots anyway!

Thank you so much again!  Grin
