That's really cute.  Did you use a pattern or think it up by yourself?  Was it very hard to make?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Two Dresses Reconstructed from ComFest and Nintendo Shirts =) on: March 05, 2008 10:56:19 AM
I love the design!  It is fun to see how much you were able to fine tune the second dress so that it was more what you wanted.  They are so cute.  If you ever want to share any tips on how you made them, I'd love to know!

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Toy recalls and the handmade christmas... on: November 09, 2007 11:38:22 AM
Love all these ideas!  Thanks everyone for sharing...

One scrapbooking idea I've been itching to make for my daughter is a photo album of loved ones.

Piggy-backing on the scrapbook idea:  I made an ABC album for my son with one page for each letter of the alphabet and a photo that goes with it.  "A is for Aunts" and I put a photo of each aunt.  He loved it when he was 2 and even more now that he is older.

Another idea I have is for a simple drawstring bag to hold toys in.  The key is to use fabric that the kid really likes.  (Of course, we need to be careful of strings around small kids...I keep mine super short.)  This has been a big hit with 2 and 3 year olds.

I love the ideas here.  Thanks for sharing everyone!  I have 11 nieces and nephews I would like to make presents for.  Buying gifts from a store would be way too expensive.  Here are some ideas I have:

Soft stuffed blocks with different textured fabrics on each side

Gift certificate for a sewing class to make a pair of shorts.  (I did this with my 8 year old niece for her birthday this year and she said it was her favorite gift).

Help!  What can I make for a 13 year old boy that he might possibly like?
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: More pants, Sock Monkey pants added! on: November 07, 2007 05:53:34 PM
Thanks for the tips.  Love the sock monkey pair.  I especially like the cuffs--how that makes for room to grow.

What a great, easy way to make kid pants.  Can't wait to try it.  Do you mind sharing how you made the fancy pockets?
