  made from a packed of a thousand mother of pearl ones that i got for $5 or something...but they're a little bland since they're all shades of white.  i thought the red perked it up a little bit.  the tourquoise ones with the lime green thread are fetching too, don't you think?

Plastic buttons will dye---you can use rit or Tintex. Sometimes the plastic will absorb the dye at different rates and you will get lovely striated or mottled effects. Thrift stores are a good place to buy buttons cheap--they sometimes bag gavillions of them to get rid of them fast and cheap.
Mother of pearl buttons can be dyes also.
I love the idea!

Hi, just thought i'd introduce myself and couldn't decide where to post first! I live in Edmonton Aberta, am a floral designer as a dayjob but at night the sewing wings come out and i create wearable art.
Is it polite of me to post a link to my design blog? It will kiid of give you an idea of what/where i am. I feel so lonely sometimes here in cyberspace; it would be nice to meet up with some likeminded threadheads!
