1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: The Sketchbook Project Craftalong 2010 on: August 01, 2010 06:34:32 PM
Haven't been on here in a loooooooooooooooooo oooooong while, but i too signed up for this project, my theme being "figuring you out". I've been combining mediums: paper, fabric and thread, markers, paints and dyes, along with my own imagery and poetry.
Will post photos as soon as i figure out the new way!

I'm sure she'll love it! It's an awesome present for a 5 year old! Glad to hear she's doing better too!
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Steve Buscemi Bleach Stencil on: September 20, 2005 09:22:52 AM
AFTER--the vinegar neutralizes the bleach---do this still in a well ventilated area, as noxious gases can stil form.

If you're using bleach in any form as a discharge agent, the piece can be "neutralized" by rinsing well in a vinegar and water solution.

Should you rinse the shirt in vinegar solution before or after you have bleached it?  thanks.

You can actually paint on fusible and use that as a transfer.

Treating the fabric with Bubbleset apparently prevents smearing and bleeding.

I just printed my first piece by fusing Transweb to a sheet of organza--no print problems, no sticking in the printer---but now i'm stymied as to where to take the piece to the next step!
Currently, he's stuck in limbo at

Posted this in quilting, but applies here too----

Quiltersand sewers of all levels-----It doesn't matter how good you are or what materials you use, but please help---beddding is needed desperately--some left with nothing but the clothing on their backs. I have posted on my journal all the info you need; this is info from the director of the International Quilt Festival. The only requirement is a desire to help!

Please note too--NO BABY QUILTS, as there are too many being sent--adult and child size is needed, as often they are being used as sleeping pads too.
