1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Halloween Costume Ideas for pregnant women on: October 29, 2007 08:43:48 AM
Looking for other ideas for a halloween costume, but I am almost 9 months pregnant. HELP! The ideas I have so far are :
1. being a pregnant cat and gluing nipples to my belly.
2. being Mother Earth and painting my belly like the globe (this is my BF costume this year though) she told me and I SO wanted this costume, because I have the bigger belly, but she got it first damn it, plus she has an artist friend who is painting her belly for her
3. going as a guy with a beer belly gut, but some reason I just don't want to do this one.
4. painting my belly as a pumpkin, but this sounds boring

If anyone has anymore ideas please help! I know its last minute, but HELP!  The cat one sounds the best out of my choices so far, besides the Mother Earth one...
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Birthday Ideas for a crafty pregnant girl on: October 19, 2007 07:00:17 AM
This should have been pretty easy, BUT my friends birthday is coming up in the middle of some of her showers for her baby boy, and I wanted her birthday celebration to be something special and just for her. So far here are the stipulations.....
About 5 of her friends are going to the Regina Spektor concert
The show is the gift to her from her friend who works at the venue
We have the VIP area mostly to ourselves because of us being pregos

SO-we want to turn it into a little birthday party in the VIP area and make/get her something special for her birthday. She can make just about anything- shes a wonderful and generous girl and I want to do something for her that reflects that, because she has done so much for me. The only thing I am concerned about is the fact that we may not be able to bring a bunch of stuff to the show. So what we need to do should be simple but effective, and not be a burden to the venue. What in the world could I do?HuhHuh?
I've made her stuff for her baby, but want to keep this simply for HER birthday, and not another shower for the baby.  The show is November 6 so I don't have much time to plan.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / HELP! What do I do with this quilt piece I found? on: August 15, 2007 07:12:47 AM
While shopping at my favorite secret vintage store, I found 2 old polyester pieces of not quite finished quilt pieces. I could put them together and make a big blanket, BUT its polyester, so its not that soft. I am looking for alternative ideas for using these pieces. Here is what the two pieces look like,

One is bigger than the other, you can see the seem of where I put them together. I could make a quilt out of it, but just use it for a play blanket for picnics and such outside. I wanted to make a skirt/jumper for myself, but scared of the sweatiness of polyester. What else could I make?HuhHuh I just know theres a great idea out there for this little gem I found...oh yea, and it only cost a dollar a piece, so 2 bucks total. Score!

10  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Mosaic Table revamp...Modified to include new paint job...white on: August 07, 2007 08:29:21 AM
I bought this table for 3 bucks at one of my favorite thrift stores a few months back, and finally got arond to doing a mosaic on it. I ended up doing both of the levels in almost the same pattern and colors. Plus, I sanded it and painted it black. I also used a glass sealer on top of it when I finished the grout. Check it out! Revised- NOW painted white!
