Sorry if there has been a post like this before, and I know a lot of you are in the US, but I am an embroidery artist and am looking for craft/art fairs in the UK. I really need somewhere where I can command a good price for my framed artwork. Otherwise any craft event will do, for my bags, etc. Any help at all will be gratefully recieved thanks in advice

27  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / vintage button cuffs on: May 30, 2007 09:31:25 AM
I first started making these a few years back, when I cut off the waistband from a pair of jeans to lower it. So basically that's what these are, jeans waistbands, decorated with my collection of vintage buttons. I always colour code them button wise. I always get compliments, so hope you crafty lot like them!

28  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Toyota Quilt 60 machine help....... on: May 29, 2007 10:06:36 AM
OK, to start with I am acursed when it comes to sewing machines. I think this is like my 3rd so far, and most of the time it is great (I only just got it), but there are a couple of things wrong, and I have no idea why! So fellow machine heads, please help!

1. the bobbin winding function worked properly twice, now it just winds on a little bit and stops, and I have to press the presser foot down everytime to make it wind on a bit more, It's taking like 5 mins to wind a bobbin, not a good use of my precious sewing time!
2. every now and again, and for NO REASON WHATSOEVER, the thread I am using goes and gets wound around the shuttle, and makes a disgusting (and disturbing) noise, causing fabric to get stuck, and gathering loads of thread. I have tried checking tensions/rethreading, and even different threads, there really seems to explanation for it.
However, even though I should be a pro after 3 years on an embroidery course, I could still be missing something, so please help me!
Thanks xx

30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Skulls n Crossbones har har! on: May 18, 2007 09:30:26 AM
This is my first post here. I'm an embroidery and textile artist, but these are some really simple customisations I have done to fill up a stall I am doing at the moment until I get my new lovely machine up and running to do free machine embroidery.

I hope you like them, you lot are really inspiring!

If these don't work, and there's just a link, can someone please repost them? Thanks. Comments welcome. xx Wink
