35  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Valentine's Day Outfit for the keeper of my Heart :) on: February 19, 2009 07:29:50 PM
I just wanted to share a valentine's day outfit that I made for my little angel.  She wore it to preschool and was the talk of the school!  She was so proud!  The  jeans were purchased at a thrift store for 3.00 and I had her pick out different things out of my embellishments that she loved.  The appliqued shirt was just the right 'topper'!

Thanks for letting me share Smiley

36  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Appliqued Ruffle Bum Onesie and matching shoes! (image heavy) on: February 19, 2009 07:19:09 PM
Hey y'all!  This was my new project today...and boy oh boy did it take awhile!  It took me a few tries to get the ruffles just right, but I am very pleased.  I was just struck by the beautiful browns in the floral patterns against the teal background, and the dark brown with teal dots coordinated just right.  I felt that the applique on the top (onesie) really needed that little bit of 'fancy' font.  The pics are a little dark, as it was kind of cloudy today!  I'm so proud of me!!

Thanks so much for the compliments, y'all!

I do know that Joanns carries that dotty non-skid fabric, but I wanted something coordinating.  I will make the fabric non-skid Smiley

Love them-- I would buy them now! Guess it's the Christmas spirit, but I can think of so many lovely ladies in my life who would benefit from some adorable slippers.

I checked out your etsy site and saw that you're from my neck of the woods (Go Dawgs!)-- do you do any craft fairs in the area?

Hi!  I haven't done any craft fairs in quite some time.  I used to make hairbows and sold those at fairs, but haven't ventured into it with my baby stuff or my adult stuff.  I am moving into making more of these slippers for women since the CPSIA is putting for new rules about selling children's items, and I (and countless other WAHM's that make anything for children newborn-12) will be put out of business on February 10th. Sad  So sad!!!

I think that I will look up some craft fairs, but I am so unfamiliar, now, with which ones are 'good' ones to be involved in.  Any ideas?

Tara

I already make things for babies, but wanted to try something for big girls and mommies, too.  I drafted the pattern and came up with these last night.

I will tread the bottoms with paint, so they will be no-slip. They have a padded insole and the vamp has an elasticized strap to keep them on...um...what else....topstitched, no exposed seams...I haven't trimmed all the threads yet...

What do you think?
