1  Acrylic mediums for cake shoes in Shoes: Discussion and Questions by dearbarbie on: February 20, 2014 06:19:12 AM
Hey all

I am in love with some shoes I want to try my hand at - these from Shoe Bakery are amazing, I want to get that kind of drippy effect on the ones I upcycle but no idea what acrylic mediums are Sad

Can anyone advise? I'm assuming it's some kind of gel, rather than acrylic paint - googling has gotten me nowhere Sad

Thanks in advance!

I got some old shoes, a feather duster and some spare leather...

These are before:

during...

...we covered the nylon tape that was holding the feathers with some purple leather...

And after...

Can't wait to wear them with a coral vintage dress!

3  I upcycled some mugs in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by dearbarbie on: April 12, 2011 09:04:56 AM
I was inspired by a post in the archives of a teapot, that I now can't seem to find. But I took boring mugs that were 1.25 for 4 and 2 x porcelain pens (3.50 each?) and made these for my and my boyfriend's new place that we get tomorrow:
