YKYACW someone makes a comment about how you need to be patient to bead, and you laugh out loud because you're living proof that that's not true  Wink
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Conference Shirt to shorts........ on: February 09, 2008 09:29:04 AM

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / very late post of a halloween costume on: February 09, 2008 09:14:35 AM
yes, I do realise halloween was months ago, but I never got a chance to post!

I really loved my costume this year...probably because it was done from scratch and NO PATTERN
I'm not ashamed to say I'm fairly proud...what do you guys think? (oh, and yes, I consider myself a kid, which is why it's in this thread   Cheesy)

sorry this is the only one I could get of (almost) the whole thing

i only posted this for the top of the costume...ignore my face -and there's another one that's my icon-thing.
anyway, i never knew sewing machines could be so evil...i finished this a day before the halloween party i went to  Tongue

YKYACW you get a math project asking you to draw a picture or make a poster...and you ask the teacher if you can make jewelry instead  Wink
(she was thrilled, i think she was just happy someone was getting into the project or something)
5  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: party for a purpose on: February 04, 2008 12:21:46 PM
thanks so much weeping_cloud! I wasn't aware of the biodegradable balloons (that's awesome) so I'll have to look out for those. Yes, I had the canvas bag idea, but I, personally don't like the look of them when covered in puff-paint and such (I'm environmental, but I also enjoy when things look good...sounds indecisive. haha) For sure there'll be no styrofoam in sight, I made my mom promise not to bring styrofoam home, ever (she was quite confused.)

I'm not sure if I should put this in the party planning section, but it definitley belongs here too.
On February 17th I was planning on having a party. There's a huge twist, as I'm asking for donations to charity rather than presents (this is my fourteenth birthday) I'd also like most of the party to be focused on charitable activities, just anything to make the world a better place. It'll probably be a 'think globally, act locally.' type thing. I'm planning to show the movie "the story of stuff" (you can view the whole movie at www.storyofstuff.com, i highly recommend you watch it, even if the woman can be a bit annoying)

If anyone has any other ideas for the party they would be greatly appreciated.  Smiley
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: 14th birthday! on: January 27, 2008 03:27:47 AM
oh, the things that happen when you bump a thread  Wink
the ideas so far are wonderful, LOVE the mocktail party idea (plus the hors'doeuvres, haha.) i've done the whole hawaiian beach party thing, i dont think my friends will go for the 70s idea and a spa party would be good if i was planning to have only girls.

wow. i dont mean to turn this into my thread, because it isn't, but i'd love to hear more ideas too!

wow! thanks bookstorebabe!
and ornamentals: i could probably find most of the words myself, i'm here for the craft-y part of the project, so if anyone has more ideas they're more than welcome!  Smiley
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: THE GENERIC BOYFRIEND GIFT THREAD: A How-To! on: January 27, 2008 03:20:28 AM
how about a coin pouch, mobile holder or mp3 player holder for that guitar of yours?

my, my! planning already? I just turned fourteen [and haven't had my party yet...what a shame!]
well with seven girls it should be lots of fun, and the photoshoot idea is great. glad you're thinking about being outside in that summer weather. swimming maybe? pool party? [this is all quite unoriginial, sorry]
www.teenpartyideas.com   (yes, that's the URL  Smiley) has some great ideas, i suggest looking at the ones with honorable mentions and such so you don't have to filter through ones with bad grammar etc...

hope i helped a little, good luck, happy birthday  Wink
