3  quick change trousers and some little booties in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by mimi123333 on: October 11, 2011 11:21:53 AM
Had to share these little pants that I whipped up for a friend's new little girl.  I used the pattern - Quick Change Trousers - from Anna Maria's sewing book.

Also included these cute little booties.  They're a great stand-by.  You can find the pattern here: http://www.michaelmillerfabrics.com/blog/cloth_shoe.pdf

A few more pictures and details can be found on my blog: http://thelifeofmegananne.blogspot.com/2011/10/sew-baby-quick-change-trousers.html

4  bath towel for baby in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by mimi123333 on: August 15, 2011 10:41:11 AM

In just about a week my friend is having a little baby - baby number two.  For the new little one and the big brother-to-be I stitched up a couple hoodied bath towels.  Pretty sweet and simple to make.  The best part was picking out the fun binding for the edges.  For a bit closer look...

5  pretty napkins... a tutorial {link}! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by mimi123333 on: August 12, 2011 03:37:35 PM
These were my first set of napkins made following the directions in Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts.  I loved how they turned out in the end, but there was too much pressing involved!  So, for my second set I decided to find an easier {read less pressing} way to make them.

Here's a link to my blog with the full tutorial for making these pretty napkins {with mitered corners}!http://thelifeofmegananne.blogspot.com/2011/08/heather-meet-martha-napkin-tutorial.html

6  A shot in the light in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by mimi123333 on: May 28, 2009 11:52:32 AM

I just wanted to share (and show off) my boyfriend's latest photography project.  He just got interested in photography a couple years ago and it's been so fun watching his skills grow by leaps and bounds.  He has put together this super cool photo book - very professional looking.

To read more about it and see some more amazing pictures in the book, feel free to check out my blog post about it.  I'm so proud of him!

Edited to add: You can also see a preview here.

***Update: Someone bought a copy of his book!!  Sweet, I'm excited and just wanted to share.

7  challa cover in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by mimi123333 on: May 11, 2009 09:30:24 PM

Well, my boyfriend was getting tired of me using a dish towel to cover the fresh baked challa on Friday nights.  And, really my dish towels aren't pretty enough or specially enough for Shabbat.  So I tried my hand at a wonky log cabin and made myself a challa cover.

Here it is in action...

9  a mother's day tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mimi123333 on: May 10, 2009 09:33:12 PM
Things my mom likes... dogs and swimming, so I was excited when I found the cutest Heather Ross fabric.  I fell in love with the mermaids and the doggies fabric coordinated nicely.  And I've got a major soft spot for fabric covered buttons.

10  my Buttercup Bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mimi123333 on: May 10, 2009 09:16:03 PM
I have been wanting to make the buttercup bag for such a long time now.  First, I was waiting for a tutorial on adding a zipper.  And then, life just kinda got in the way.  But now, I've finally done it!

Here's what I did differently...
1.) Enlarged 125% because of all the comments of this being a bit small as is.  For me, 125% turned out perfect.
2.) Added a zipper, but did not follow the tutorial at all.  For the zipper I added a "placket" (not sure if this is the right term).  I modified the lining portion to be two pieces, like the outer portion of the bag.  I sewed the zipper between the two parts.  The placket added some width to the bag so I had to add a little piece between the upper portions of the outer bag instead of just sewing them together.  A little fudging, but it worked.
3.) Off-centered fabric covered buttons as embellishment.

Fabric: Amy Butler - lining: Midwest Modern 2 sky/fresh poppies
                            outer: Daisy Chain Clematis/grey
