This was done a while ago, but I only got a picture recently.

Just to prove to myself that I could do this, I did it.  What do you think?

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Recycled Silk - Ideas Needed! on: July 12, 2004 10:48:34 AM
Hi everybody!

My local yarn shop just got in some absolutely beautiful Mango Moon recycled silk yarn.  As I am a total yarn slut, I bought some.

Now what do I do? The stuff is gorgeous, but I don't think it very robust so I don't want to make something that will have to go through a lot of wear and tear.  I'm almost inclined to make a light poncho or shawl type thing with it. Would double stranding it with something else (I've seen mohair suggested) make it more able to handle wear?

Any help, tips or stories about working with recycled silk would be most appreciated.
