After sewing purses, diaper bags, and Superman-type capes for others the last couple of months I decided it was time I made something for myself! This is what I came up with. I just finished it up today and I love it! I wasn't sure I'd like the fabrics together, but it turned out well I think. It's a great size for all my purse stuff plus a travel wipe case and a couple of diapers/pullups. The pocket on the front came from a uniform shirt of my hubby's. Comments and criticisms welcome, but please make sure the criticisms are constructive! I'm 34 weeks pregnant and very hormonal right now! LOL. Thanks for looking!
Here is another diaper bag I made for another friend whose husband is in the Army. She had her first baby in April of this year. That zipper top was challenging! lol. I was so glad to finally get it finished!
Here is a diaper bag I made for a friend who is due to have her second baby the end of this month. Her husband is in the Army so she wanted the ACU fabric. She loves birds so even though she is having a boy she chose something cutesy with birds. She loved the way it turned out and so do I!
So, my almost two year old is fascinated with Dora the Explorer and her monkey pal Boots. Dear daughter's birthday is this Thursday and I made these up for gifts. It's my first time making a dress for her. Also my first time using the Pretty Ditty apron pattern. I love, love, love the apron and can't wait to make one in my size!
I am sewing a dress for my daughter and only have the button holes and buttons left to put on. However, I'm having issues with the buttonhole. I have a Brother CE-4000 with the automatic buttonholer foot. I have checked and rechecked and rechecked the instructions in the manual and am still having issues. I start sewing after measuring the button in the foot and lining everything up. It stitches up the first side of the hole, catches on the plastic thing telling it when to stop and then just keeps sewing in place rather than coming back down. I've tried the troubleshooting guide and searching online and have found no help. Her birthday is three days away and I just really, really want to get this done! Thanks for your help.
Please help! I am in charge of decorating for our church's week long Vacation Bible School. The theme is RescueZone. Each night will feature a different rescue squad...police, firemen, national guard, etc. The logo is a flying helicopter. I'd love to have a large helicopter in the front of the auditorium, but am not sure how to go about making it. I plan to use a lot of balloons and color. Any ideas for decorating would be greatly appreciated, as would any ideas on how to make a large helicopter inexpensively.
Sorry if this is in the wrong category. I'm not sure where to post it! lol My husband just bought me a sewing machine...I've used my Mom's in the past...and I'm beginning to make purses/totes and other miscellaneous items that I'd like to personalize with a label that has my name on it. I've found several online sites that sell them, but they are a little too pricey for me right now. Does anyone know of a good place where I can get them less expensively? They don't have to be fancy. Simple and elegant is more my taste. Thank you.
My husband is getting a new office. He is the assisant pastor of our church, so the decor needs to be nice. He has always had a passion for monkeys, and I would love to decorate it that way for him. The problem is this, everything I find is much too childish! His office needs be grown up and tasteful with a dash of fun...not a child's nursery. He'll have one window I need to make a curtain for, a futon I'd love to recover, and one large wall to work with. Any ideas?
