1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Adult: Don't take the name lightly, I am Gory Cori. on: October 31, 2007 10:29:02 PM
Happy Halloween, my friends!

I present to you the goriest thing Ive ever done.  I dont take my namesake of Gory Cori for granted, and this holiday look was no exception.

The look I went for was simply skinned.  Think Hellraiser, or anything.  I was gory and unsettling, and it was effective.  I scared the [expletive] out of my impossible-to-scare friend Angie.  I was approached by two people who had asked around to see if I was an actual burn victim before they told me, nice costume.  I had my picture taken by loads of mallgoers, made countless kids cry, and my lovely visage will be gracing the town paper next Wednesday.  Im so proud of this.

The clothing portion of my costume was re-conned from an old set of scrubs I had used last October.  A bit of a rush job, I made it last Saturday morning, pinching and sewing until it fit close to the body.

This makeup was the culmination of all the tricks and trials that Ive done over the Month of Fright.  From the latex lumps to the new miracle blood, everything fell into place perfectly.  This was even my first time using a bald cap, but it worked!

It took me 3 hours to do my makeup, and another hour to scrub it all off when I was done.

2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Month of Fright (My Makeup and Costumes) on: October 04, 2007 08:58:23 PM
Hey guys!  I thought this might be worth its own thread, since I'll have many more costumes coming as I plan to dress up in some fashion for every day I work this month.  And, since I'm proud, I want to shamelessly show off.  All my makeup effects are done with paint techniques and the creative use of dermawax and liquid latex.  Coming later will be pics that show off my hand-gored clothing and other costumes I make, for myself or my friends.

10/3/07:  My face hurts...

Also from 10/3/07, my co-worker promised me he was coming in as Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4.  Alas, plans fell through and he showed up costumeless!  So, I zombified him in two seconds with one color of paint and some cheap black eyeshadow.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / The Sexiest Take on Magneto, Ever. on: July 30, 2007 11:03:41 AM
Check it out!  Made the same way as the Slayer top, laced up the back, from an Adult Medium tee.  The bottom hem rolled up when I washed it, but it reads "Magneto was right."

Hey guys!

Time for my first real post.  I wanted to show off one of many incarnations of a pattern I made that worked out beautifully.  Since this one is the newest (and the only one I have pictures of yet), I figured this is the one to brag about.  Made from a Youth Medium Slayer guys tee, now a cute little number.

It really shows off a lot of midriff, but I'm wearing guys shorts that have a fairly high rise on me.

The back is made from other parts of the t-shirt.

Details a bit closer up...

And the action shot!  That blob is my hand trying to take the camera away from my boyfriend.

Comments?  Criticism?  Hope you guys like it!
