21  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Orchids! (my post ate some picture cake and got a bit chubby) on: February 05, 2008 10:40:04 PM
My boyfriend and I got a membership to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. They are currently having an exhibit featuring gargoyles and orchids.

Here's a few shots from a recent visits. Hope you enjoy them!

These kinda look like they have little faces on them... can't help but smile at them!

Soooo... lay it on me... what do you think?

23  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: I love pacman. :D on: January 03, 2008 01:26:30 PM
I'd wear a pacman in my right ear and pinky in my left.

But I'm a giant nerd.

And I'd probably make a bracelet of little yellow "power pellets", too.

This reminds me sooooo much of the Miss Universe tiara. I mean, except for it's way cooler and a bajillion dollars cheaper. Smiley

Who needs diamonds (besides me) and pearls when you've got PEACOCK FEATHERS.

Love Love Love it. Smiley
28  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: quickie dress that anybody can make on: May 11, 2007 08:04:37 AM
So I really wanted to wear this to work today, but I couldn't find a way to wrap guaranteed to keep my strapless bra covered (It's a seriously cold hotel office, braless is NOT an option!) So I decided to improvise.

I took a length of leftover fabric and made into sort of a bandeau-type bra cover... Just a length with the ends sewed to form a circle. I put it on and tucked the edges under the bottom of my bra. successfully camouflaging it into my dress and now I can twist into any of the supercute styles and still have the confidence to wear without my unmentionables showing.

I'd take a picture of it, but my camera's battery is charging.
29  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Bad Craftster Bride (but with bead bouquet tutorial!) on: May 11, 2007 07:12:01 AM
I was just MOH in my friend's Jamaica wedding (Yay for Jamaica!) and here is my bouquet. I was in charge of making them actually look like bouquets, but they made all the strands before we left for the trip. Bride's bouquet was 800 stems of swarovski crystal and pearls, and mine (the one pictured) was about 300 stems of swarovski crystal and pearls.

yep. on my little silver scooter with pink hibiscus flowers. Smiley
In fairness, the beach is all of 3 minutes by scooter. The twirling was well worth the risk of giving the entire island a free show.
