Very cute baby! Love his outfit too. Great recycling.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Shirred Sundress on: July 17, 2009 11:20:49 PM
Really cute dress and fabric contrast!
I have made something similar and I always hem the top first while the fabric is flat then do the shirring.  Is easier as you thought.

You can also use the steam when you iron it to pull up the elastic...works like wetting it.

They look nice! My son (5) Says he likes them!
I really like the orange contrast and how you can 'grow' into them.
Well done!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: L is for Lion Applique - w/ PATTERN!!! on: May 01, 2009 10:30:33 PM
This is so awesome! Love the bit of dimension you put in buy using the reverse appliqué. The colours go well together and the lion is just adorable. Very well sewn too!

Nice boys outfit! love the plane fabric and how you appliquéd one on the onesie.
A good idea having a turn up bottom with extra growth room.

Great boys shirts! - It is nice to let them choose the fabric. My son likes that too...why should girls have all the fun eh? At least there seems to be a bit more choice for boys these days.
10  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Great quilting shop in Outer Eastern Melbourne on: March 06, 2009 01:41:09 AM
Hi everyone,
I just discovered a great quilting shop in Bayswater North, Melbourne.
It is called Patchwork with Gail and is on Canterbury Rd. Inside the Keith Fagg Tile shop...just a few doors down from Spotlight.
They have a bit of a site where you can see what is in their store. A LOT of fabrics including Amy Butler Midwestern Modern 2 collection for $20/metre. The prices are pretty good, most fabrics are $14 - $20. They have 12,000 different fabrics.

Here is the link for more info...www.patchwor kwithgailb.com

Hope someone finds this helpful. My Dad actually found it...I guess being in a Tile store!
