1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cotton Ease Baby Blanket on: June 20, 2008 08:52:07 PM
i loved knitting this. it took a long time but it was never boring. i used a pattern that i found on ravelry but i tweaked it a bit. the color chart was off and the final round wasnt the same on all sides, so a friend and i redid the chart to make it work. i also changed the border color to pink after we found out the baby is a girl. she isnt due til the beginning of august...im so glad i finished early!

pattern - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cotton-ease-baby-blanket

yarn - lion brand cotton ease. first time working with it, it knit up nicely.

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / favorite color swap round 2? on: April 13, 2008 01:52:40 PM
i just finished up round one of this swap and would probably be willing to organize a round two if there's enough interest. its incredibly open ended. you just have to craft things in your partner's favorite color. for round one we had the option of doing one small, one medium, and one large or one medium and five smalls. we could really do any combination of sizes though. if i do organize, i wont start signups til the end of may. im graduating from college on may 24th, so id like to wait until all that's out of the way. anyone interested?
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / scarf for a friend on: April 03, 2008 06:35:30 PM
i made this about a year and a half ago for a friend, Tom (he's in the pics), who lives in Georgia (I live in NH). I'm just now getting pictures taken of it while he's up here visiting.

its super long, but he's pretty tall, so it fits him well.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / ds lite case on: April 01, 2008 04:51:33 PM
i whipped this up in about 5 hours - these hours also included making lunch, ripping cds, and organizing/partner-ing up another swap. it was pretty intense. i made this for the winter round of the favorite color swap.

and modeled by a friend's ds lite...

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / i finally finished something for myself on: March 13, 2008 11:31:56 AM
yes, another danica, i know, but the first one i made went to my grandmother and then i never finished the second one. third time's a charm, right?

its a little longer than i had planned on, i got a little carried away i guess, but it still keeps me warm!

EDIT: i used patons shetland chunky on size nine needles.
6  COOKING / Dessert / my first solo baking project on: January 11, 2008 06:50:37 PM
as my new year's resolution, i have decided to start baking. for my very first totally solo project i made these cupcakes for my best friend's daughter's first birthday party. they are the peanut butter cupcakes from the "vegan cupcakes take of the world" book by isa chandra moskowitz and terry hope romero. the batter tasted really good, but they are still cooling so i havent tasted the final product yet.
