1  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: big #@%! baby blanket is FINISHED! on: February 03, 2007 02:52:15 PM
Beautiful blanket! I'm sure mom and baby were appreciative.

So I'm having a baby. And my husband wants me to make this blanket for the pollywog--using that fancy pants, break-the-bank yarn. Does anyone know if the Koigu is fingering weight? That's all I can find online and don't want to, um, accidentally order $100 of uselessness.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The Gocco isn't that messy or hard to do, but does take some trial and error (so now we have a few dusting cloths with the chicks on them).  We used the Gocco for our wedding invites, too (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=26389.0).  It's an initial investment, but a great way to personalize things.

My pal is havin' a baby (her mom reports she is "as big as a house") and I volunteered to make the shower invitations.  I bought packages of sweet pea seeds, made this tag (incorporating "sweet pea" phrasing), and looped them together with ribbon.  They were expensive (the seeds ranged from $1.69-$2.39 each!) but OH SO CUTE!

These babies got us into the August 2005 edition of Britian's GAMES MASTER magazine!  Magazine debut!

Hi Pretendpeterpan--
We printed the words using a standard ink jet printer because we both have horrible handwriting.  I was skeptical of the ink jet at first ("Won't it look like shit?") but it worked out very well.

Thank you, everyone!

They took one solid Saturday morning of hard work--no gettin' out of our pajamas or nothing:  just good ol' fashioned assembly line work over coffee.

We are trying to make as much as we can for our wedding.  Next up:  a photo mosaic composed of lil' pictures of us.

A lil' late, but here our the Halloween costumes my luv and I wore last year.  He took a screen shot from the Ms. Pac Man, blew it up, and transfered the image to a grid and cut it out from paper board.  (For the record, I did not spend the night trying to eat him.)

(Sorry I have crazy eyes in the picture.  Jeez!)

My luv and I finished our wedding invitations last weekend.  The invitation itself is an accordian style card with our thumbprints on it:  girl, boy, together making a heart.  The paper is white so I suppose you can't see the outline, but imagine!  (A fourth panel had the date/time details, but it all wouldn't fit on the scanner.)

Our reply card, which we shed blood, sweat, and tears over, is a photo of us that we Gocco printed with our small screen printer.

The idea for the invitation was taken from the book "The Artful Bride Wedding Invitations":

Super cute, Twilight!
How did you get a tie like that on the booties?  It it crocheted?
