11  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Bernat Glow-in-the-Dark Yarn on: January 20, 2009 05:20:34 AM
On the Bernat website, they have a few:

http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=3171 - Glow In The Dark - Ghost Family
http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=3130 - Glow In The Dark - Boo Bag

But I like your idea too, making a dog coat/sweater.  Grin

The last step in my pattern (aside from sewing up the seams) says:

Quote
Using tapestry needle, thread yarn through remaining 12 sts. Gather tightly and secure.

Which side of the needle do I begin threading through the loops? The side closest to the pointy end of the needle (open end)? Or the other side?

I immediately thought of tucking the one needle under one arm too! Smiley

The loom idea isn't bad either.

Looks like you already got some good suggestions.

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: I am embarassed to ask... on: July 10, 2008 07:37:52 PM
That is what I am thinking, and based on the first person's response I say that is correct.  Smiley

So I got that figured out...but I have another question.

Quote
Row 1 (RS): *(K1, p1) 4 times, k2tog; rep from * - 72 sts.

Row 2 and all WS rows: P the knit sts and k the purl sts.

So what would Row 2 be?  Embarrassed

*p2tog, (k1,p1) 4 times; rep from *

Is that correct?

#4 by far is my most favorite. I also like #5, but not as much as #4.

I'd try and keep away from something super patterned because your dress has a cute pattern already. But I think #4 would be nice because it's not going to try and rival your dress pattern. Your dress would be a nice background for it. Plus I like the sparkle too, but that is just me.  Cheesy #5 might be a little lighter of a choice since it doesn't cover as much of your body. Sometimes fall weather is still rather warm to be wearing a full sweater like item such as #4. If you are the kind of person who gets cold easy, I say go for #4. If you get warm easily, I'd say go for #5. Keep in mind where you will be also. If it's going to be in a small building/room then all those bodies my heat up the space and make you roast. Good luck and post a pic when you are done!!!!
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I am embarassed to ask...UPDATED!!! on: July 10, 2008 05:31:56 PM
The pattern I am doing, uses a seed stitch. Calling the first row (RS).
I assume this means all the odd rows are (RS). And all even rows are (WS).

In order to start shaping the hat, it says to end on a (WS).

So does this mean, when I work the last row, what row would be the last I actually knit? An even row or odd?  Roll Eyes

Thanks for humoring an idiot!
