1  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Thyroid charity. on: September 12, 2008 05:46:36 AM
I have decided to go on a mission to try and raise at least 100 for The british Thyroid Foundation (http://www.btf-thyroid.org/index.htm) as I have been affected by Thyroid disorder and so have so many people.

I know this is a Uk charity but is relevant all over the globe as research helps everyone.

There is a bit on my blog about it.

I really want to get the cowl sales going as I can't afford to just donate money. Does anyone have any ideas how I could promote this as I am new to selling!!

Thank you

4  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Weekend spins! on: April 13, 2008 12:54:55 PM
Smiley I am so pleased with how these turned out.

Handspun, single ply from batt "peacock" by Etsy seller Shunklies. Alpaca, tencel, angelina, lurex, mohair.
Lovely glittery bitts, great fun but not very well balanced!

Handspun, 7 WPI, 2 ply, 78 metres. From March Cuckoo batt club "cheaters garden". Wool, alpaca, bamboo silk.
I love it, so soft, not perfect but it doesn't need to be!

I am new to spinning so am happy with these.

5  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Venezia from Interweave Winter 06 by Eunny Jang on: December 09, 2007 11:20:04 PM

I had to frog mine!  It was just too small for my middle, but I am determined that it will be re-started in the new year one size bigger then I am sure it will be fine.

I have finished, please excuse the rather dodgy picture, in a rush, self timer, hate having my photo taken!!! The second picture shows the detail. I loved knitting this and the Malabrigo is perfect. I used just under a skein of Emerald.

It is gorgeous! I love that colour and it really suits you!

Mine is drying at the moment as for some crazy reason I decided to block it!

I missed this knitalong! I will join you!

I started this on Friday in Malabrigo worsted in Emerald. There is a starting picture on my blog so you can see the colour.
I am on the crown decreases now so hope to finish it very soon  Smiley

that looks so awesome Cynder!!  what yarn are you using?

I'm still looking for a good subsitute yarn for this.. i'm going to make it.. one day.... maybe a while.. but one day.. lol

I am using Rowan yorkshire Tweed, I have stitch gauge with it and almost row gauge! The only trouble is that the colours are limited although it does bloom beautifully when washed!
