Holy crap, you are brilliant.  My husband and myself also desparately need new shelving for cheap.  This is a great idea--I love how you used the rectangles.  Now I need to go back to JoAnns to see if they have those on sale near me.  Smiley

I made this very tiny sculpture of one of my favorite characters from Wallace and Gromit, Feathers McGraw.
Here he is checking out his rubber glove hat:

Sorry for the bad pictures... taken with iSight.

18  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Vases, ring bearer pillow, and bag on: July 23, 2006 10:02:11 AM
I'm getting married a week from today (whoa) and there are a few little crafty projects I've decided to take on for myself before the big day.

For centerpieces I'm having a florist fill these glass rectangular vases from IKEA.   We bought 11 extra vases (they were only $2.50) so I'm using six of them for the bridesmaids, flower girls, and myself to put our bouquets in during the reception.  I made this little charms (silver photo frames) with each girl's initial and attached them with ribbon.  The ribbons are spring green and white (part of our colors).

Then I made a ring bearer pillow out of some bridal satin and antique lace my mother had.  The rings with be tied with organza ribbon.

Then I wanted to have a purse to match my dress that I'm going to wear when I leave the reception.  I'd never quilted before and I thought I'd try it out so here's my attempt made with white linen and goldish-brown lining fabric.

Thanks for looking! Cheesy
