1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: The cardigan with a whole family of sleeves. on: December 12, 2013 11:05:32 AM
It's beautiful!  Your work is so intricate and lovely.  I am impressed that you would work those sleeves until they were right.  (I'll admit I'm so impatient that after I finish the body of a sweater I think about skipping the sleeves entirely and making it into a vest.)  I am working on a project that needs one more cuff and I'll be done.  You inspired me to just sit down and finish it!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: ~New to sewing and new to here! on: August 26, 2012 10:14:27 AM
Welcome to Craftster!  I'm sure you will enjoy exploring this site.  There is so much to see!  Be sure to explore the Clothing: Reconstructed board.  There are great postings about creating new things from old things.  One example is how a clever person turned a woman's large turtleneck into toddler pajamas:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=277909.0
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Red, Black, White, and Gray All Over Quilt on: August 22, 2012 09:01:38 AM
I love this quilt!  The fabrics and colors look great together.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help Need to learn to sew on: August 13, 2012 10:52:11 AM
Here's a link to a place that provides sewing classes in Dallas, TX.  Click on "calendar" and up pops their schedule of classes.  Good luck!

Good job!  I never have the patience to make a mock-up first.  Be sure to post photos of the finished dress!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help Recon. T-shirt to Dress? on: July 13, 2012 10:19:47 AM
That is the coolest shirt!  I found this on the Instructables website:

Hopefully, that will give you some ideas!

9  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: 12th century english wool gown replica on: May 27, 2012 10:16:47 AM
What a ton of work - and it looks lovely!  I'm sure you'll enjoy wearing this!  I like how the embroidery ties in with the red of the inner sleeves.  Nice work!
10  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Turtle Quilt on: May 21, 2012 10:57:00 AM
My son asked me to make him a quilt with a turtle on it.  I drew the turtle myself, and  appliqued it onto the center square by hand.  Then I spent four days from morning to night cutting and sewing strips around the 8-1/2 inch squares that were cut from a sea turtle-themed batik I ordered online from a quilt shop in Hawaii.
