1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / how tall are you? on: June 14, 2010 12:44:07 AM
Hello, it's been a long since my last post although I constantly check craftster for ideas and inspiration...
My mom volunteers in a pediatric surgery department at a hospital and asked me to decorate a measuring board for the kids ambulatory, that's what I came up with:

sorry for the great iphone quality of the pictures, and for not thinking of a complete shot.
It's a wood board 1,50 mt long painted with acrylic and decorated with chalk, then I glued on the ikea paper measuring tape you get all along the shops. it was fun to make and everybody liked it at the hospital:)

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / tip needed- transparency on: December 06, 2007 03:50:43 AM
Hi I wanted to make a wallet with a transparent pocket (like ID pocket or something), simply I've never tried anything similar and I don't know where to start from.

So, first question, which fabric/material? I have a very simple sewing machine and I'm not sure if it would handle a strong pvc or acetate.
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / blue bag, pink bag .tons of pictures on: December 05, 2007 05:43:45 AM
Just completed yesterday a new messenger (not really sure it can be called messenger) bag and a shoulder bag, tell me what you think...

blue bag has adjustable strap, two side pockets and a back zippered pocket

lining is an old t-shirt

flap has a "pocket" to hold jacket in sunny days, or newspaper in boring days Smiley
I like the final result except maybe I should have put some interfacing as it is a bit weak

and now the pink one (Eco-friendly!!!)
outer fabric is (was) a ethnic scarf
bag is interfaced and the black fabric is a strong cotton
