When I went to JoAnn's right before Halloween last year for my own costume stuff there was a couple checking out in front of me with items obviously for  a costume. When someone asked them what they were gonna be, the guy grinned & said that she was going to be a salt shaker & he was going to be a battery. So together they would be "a salt & battery". I thought it was hilarious!!!

ok, so vellum works?? Does it need to be white?  I thought about buying the decal stuff, but felt unsure. It does work?? I really want to try this, but the whole transparency thing freaked me out!!

ugh, diabetes is rough, but not the worst thing, luckily he can control it with diet( I've had a rough past year, my forever boyfirend found out at age 26 that he was type 1 & then a few months later went blind due to rapidly progressing cataracts, which thankfully can be reversed with surgery). My boyfriend likes to eat nuts, they are filling & easy to grab even at a gas station. Just make sure your dad sticks with what he needs to do. I have alot of relatives who developed diabetes, but afterthey felt better gave up on their diets & that can be VERY dangerous to their health!!
There are a ton of great resources for recipes, I have been able to convert alot of my cookie recipies with very good results. The American Diabetic ASsociation has some online recipes available. Someone mentioned the Betty Crocker Diabetes Cookbook which I can tell you is great!! Also check out magazines, there is one called Diabetic LIving, I think.
