3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / in which there is a love of antique brass and glass pearls on: October 01, 2009 11:55:53 AM

Three different colors of glass pearls: Ivory, Almond, and Gold

Pendants, Falls, Chain, and most of the findings used in all of these projects are natural brass (remaining findings are brass plated).
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Mary Rose High Waisted Lolita Skirt on: September 29, 2009 12:26:59 PM
Finished this skirt recently as a commission.

100% Cotton
Fully serged
Fully lined
Venise Lace & Rayon Braid
Elastic panel and lacing in back for fit (ribbon ends sealed to prevent fraying)
Invisible zipper and Hook & Eye closure

I am absolutely in love with the fabric that I used for this. I went back after buying the initial amount for the skirt, and bought the last that they had of it. Currently plotting a nice set for myself.

Oh, wow! It's been a long time since I've posted here. But I'm back to show off some of my pieces. Smiley

First up and most recently finished: a pink a white sweet lolita skirt and heart-bow headband with pearls.

The hair piece laying against the skirt.
The pearls look a little odd from the lighting, in some of these, but the two smaller sizes are pure white, and the three large pearls are pink.

Pink x White Gingham Seersucker, and White Cotton
Eyelet & Cluny Lace, Rayon Braid
Fully Lined
Fully Serged (4 thread overlock = ♥)
Invisible Zipper & Hook on side
Fixed waistband, no elastic

Pattern drafted by hand.
There are 17 yards of ruffles in this.

I'm not personally fond of sweet for myself, but I wanted a change from staring at black or bordeaux, and have been meaning to clean out the fabric pile.  Smiley
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Autumn-y Lolita Skirt on: June 18, 2007 11:57:34 AM
After the positive response toward my Red Semi-Classical Lolita Dress (again: thank you everyone!), Im back again, with a simple Lolita skirt this time. A lot more quick and easy (sort of).

Specifics:
Fully Serged
Half Elasticized Waist (No Zipper)
All Hand Gathered
Black Velvet Ribbon Trim
Interfacing in Front Half of Waist Band.

Shown over relatively lightweight petticoat (also hand made) that's more suited to classical/princess lines. I will be making a better petticoat for this soon.
NOTE: Blouse was store bought.

I've also begun work on a Classical Lolita Underbust Jumperskirt.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Red Semi-Classical Lolita Dress on: May 10, 2007 11:15:38 AM
I finished this dress last night. Inspired by this dress by Mary Magdalene.
I originally bought the remainder of a bolt of blue floral fabric to make this dress in and decided that it would be a bit more wise to try out my pattern drafting skills on a solid color that, if need be, I could replace. In the end, I did not need to replace anything, though the dress still caused me plenty of grief.

Specifics:
Fully Lined
Fully Serged
Invisible Zipper (through two layers of fabric, the idea of which I am no longer fond of)
Bows have pin-backs so they can be taken off
Layer of lightweight interfacing between the hand-gathered outer layer of the bust, and the lining
Fabric loops down back for lacing

Originally intended to add a built in petticoat to the mix, and decided against it.

I'm smaller than my dress form, so it's not zipped all the way here.

(also put together the hat)

The loops on the back

Worn with a petticoat (yes, I am ignoring the blouse rule)

Worn without a petticoat at my place of work for my Pup's last day of training class.
