1  Re: Blank matchbooks in the Bay Area? in Discussion and Questions by stitchwitch on: February 17, 2006 01:11:52 PM
In case anyone else is interested, I found boxes of 50 plain white matchbooks at the Smart & Final in South San Francisco! And they only cost $1.15 a box, way better than the $16.00 for 50 they were charging at some wedding favor websites. I bought 6 boxes, and look how cute the packaging is:

There is some tiny writing at the bottom of the books that says "D.D. Bean & Sons Jaffrey, N.H.", but it doesn't stand out at all. Hope others can use this info in the future. Thanks for reading!

You have inspired so many! One more to add to that list. After reading your how-to post, I just had to do it myself. It was so easy!  The hardest part was finding the right image (I decided on Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks).
(Sorry my image is so big. Still figuring out the posting thing.)

I like silkscreening, but the cost of supplies have always scared me off. Anyone can afford a couple of tubes of acrylic paint (99 cents each or less!). Here's my shirt. Bummer thing is that I have to wait 7 days to wear it according to the directions on the paint. Man!
