21  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Getting rid of some of my fabric stash!! on: August 31, 2009 11:04:07 PM
This may sound weird, but on diaperswappers.com alot of women sell their fabric (in the FSOT section) for use in making cloth diapers and cloth pads. Most of it seems to go really fast!
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Is it possible to tighten up a bra band that is stretched? on: August 31, 2009 10:55:31 PM
Okay, I'm poor. I admit it.

I also have extremely (and uncomfortably) large boobs.

I have found one bra in the past two years that I like the fit of, and I have two of them. They are the only bras I ever wear, ever, if I can help it. However, they are both getting all stretched out and loose in the band area.

Is there something I can do to fix this without completely taking the bra apart and making a new one? For reference, they are underwire with a slightly "padded" (meaning, thin molded foam) cup and fixed straps. I tried just shortening the band by folding a bit of it over, sewing it down against the rest of the band, and wearing it, but that part was thicker and pushed too hard against my skin, and ended up giving me a friction rash.
23  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: What are your bad sewing habits? on: August 31, 2009 06:33:40 PM
I save those bitty little scraps too...they're like long enough for 3 or 4 long stitches on my machine, at most, and I have a whole shoebox full of them! I wonder if they would be good for stuffing things with?

Soo....

At what point do you consider someone "flaked"?

My partner hasn't been on craftster since the 14th, hasn't PMed me since July 21, hasn't posted in this swap's threads since July 7th.

I know that she has a very busy life, her hubby is active-duty air force and they have many foster children, so I hope there isn't some kind of crisis happening that is keeping her offline. I just...also...wish I hadn't put money and time into crafts for someone who may never get back in touch with me again. At least I didn't send yet!
25  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Decorate My Themed Room Swap Gallery on: August 21, 2009 01:23:48 PM
That is all so cute! The lightswitch/outlet covers are perfect for the bedspread, and that hello kitty board is SO her. Great job!

And yeah, she does have alot going on right now...she just started senior year of high school, is having to do credit retrieval classes online all day and sit in one classroom during that time, with no friend interaction or anything...her one happy thing was that she was doing vo-tech for cooking classes, but her car broke on the second day and she had to drop vo-tech completely. She's a sad robyn now  Undecided

I'm not finished yet :-/ I wasn't able to make any use of Miss Migraine's sewing machine while I was at her house, so I'm finishing up today (hopefully) and should be able to send either tomorrow or tuesday.

Sorry, partner!

Oh crapsicles, I just realized I won't even be home for the next three days...maybe Miss Migraine will let me use her sewing machine? She'd better...I bought it for her!

It's crunch time! I'm getting kind of panicky...I have my large and one small done, but not the medium, and the other small is only just now getting started. I may have to send late, due to that small item. Wish me luck on it getting done on time!

Sucks about the flooding, and sucks even more about the spray paint! I'm sure she'll understand, though  Wink

As for me, I have now finished one of my smalls and my large. Other small is being made for me by a friend (because I can't manage to make it myself) and the medium is turning out to be more of another large, based solely on time. Hopefully I can get it done today or tomorrow, though! That is my goal ^_^

Regarding blushingbluegrass's partner:

She doesn't get much computer time lately. I'll let her know that she needs to get on and give an update, though!
