1  Wardrobe decoration help needed! in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by volupta on: September 12, 2004 02:11:05 AM
Hi everyone!

So I bought a cheapo wardrobe to keep all my slips/petticoats/fluffy stuff in, but as you can see it is really not that exciting to look at:

I'm open to any ideas, painting, stenciling, sticking stuff on. Anyone have any wicked ideas? It would be cool if the outside reflected the contents... or something like that!

In the drawers are gloves, shawls, corsets and stuff.

thanks for any goodness!

I just finished mine! I have been agonising over the last few months what needles to use because you can't get the specified size in australia. So finally I went and just used 7mm circulars and sort of went along without following the actual pattern, just using the concept and the right twist. It turned out so cool! I love it.

Sorry, there's another photo of it in the completed projects thread but I wanted to show off my new socks as well  Smiley It's a nicer photo too.

Damn these are annoyingly cute. Here is mine!

This one is going to my mum even though the ears are a bit demented. I don't know any children to give these to, but I believe I would like a 'herd' sitting in my room! I made this one out of possum/merino wool and stuffed it with all my yarn-spinning mistakes (aah recycling!).

5  Re:The Stereotypical Knitter in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by volupta on: March 11, 2004 11:10:47 PM
I've been knitting for a year or so after a long hiatus, and I knit wherever I can. Everyone has been really interested so far, and once a guy who tried to pick me up at the bus stop opened the conversation by telling me his mother knitted (though at that time I was crocheting)! He was a bit creepy though... Only one of my friends thinks I'm hopelessly daggy, but hey.

Look! Here's my boy trying to knit after I just taught him.

He wants to make scarves and felted pencilcases. I took him for a long drive to a spinning/wool store that had just opened and to my surprise he really got into that as well, so he wants me to teach him to drop spindle. There ARE crafty boys!
