1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / I can crochet!! on: October 16, 2007 09:20:44 PM
Squeee! I can't believe it! After 3.5 years of knitting I have actually figured out crochet! I started off just practicing single crochet across 6 stitches and it ended up being a 6 foot scarf! I made it in Christmas colors because I thought it would take a lot longer than it did. I'm sure I made lots of mistakes. I even attempted a single crochet border in white. Again I'm sure I did it wrong but I like it so who cares if it's done right hehe. Hope you enjoy! Also ignore the mess on the couch, I've been sick all weekend and thats where I've been laid up crocheting.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Halloween earrings and Christmas Keychains by my son on: October 09, 2007 12:20:23 PM
Today was a very crafty day! I made a very ugly not postable halloween pin that no one will be wearing. Seriously. BUT the idea for the pin got my wheels turning and I made these earrings!

Then my son and I made maracas with paper plates, yarn, markers and beans. It was quite messy and major fun making up songs afterwards but after all that fun was done we pulled out the shrinky dinks (I'm now addicted) and made these...one for each grandma...for Christmas presents. I cut the circle out of the plastic...let him go to town doodling with sharpies, wrote his name and the year on it, punched a hole, baked it and beaded it. I think they will love them.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My newest earrings, shrinky dink style on: October 08, 2007 07:19:42 PM
So these are kinda teeny-bop looking but I am in love with them! They kinda remind me of mod party earrings.

and here's a close up so you can see it better

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Coins into earrings... on: October 08, 2007 07:17:41 PM
So I have 6 of these really cute coin/token things from the local arcade here. I really wanted to make them into a bracelet or earrings but I was wondering what the best way would be to punch a hole in them? They are about the thickness of a quarter.
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Two Shrinky Dink Keychains on: October 06, 2007 10:02:58 AM
These were made by my 5 year son and I. We are doing keychains for Christmas presents this year. We decided to do mock-ups today. The heart I drew out and he colored and cut it out. I baked it and put it on the keychain. The "J" I did. My husband said it doesn't look like a cursive "J". What do you guys think? I know it's not the best but it was my first time working with these.

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Some earrings I've made... on: October 06, 2007 10:00:25 AM
I made these yesterday. I bought the charms for some shrinky dink keychains I was going to do and well they weren't turning out good at all so I made earrings instead LOL.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Halloween/Fall Decorating Knit/ Knifty Knit Patterns?? on: September 21, 2007 07:01:44 AM
Anyone know where I can find some cute hand knit or knifty knitter knit Halloween or Fall decoration patterns? I know there's a spider out there on provocraft.com and a pumpkin but has anyone found things like a ghost or even just leaves? Thanks in advance!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Spool Knitting/I-cord Question. on: September 13, 2007 05:41:07 AM
Ok this may sound really weird but if there is a pattern for a spool knit cord could I in theory make it instead with I-cord? I can't seem to get the hang of a little spool knitter but I CAN do I-cord.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Semi-Completed Project! on: August 02, 2007 08:25:21 PM
I know this is supposed to be for completed projects but I couldn't wait to share this! MY FIRST INTARSIA PROJECT!! I've always been too scared to try it, but I checked out a book "Picture Knits" from the library and it was a lot of help! I'll post again when it's actually finished but this is also my first time writing a pattern as well!

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Harry Potter Watch and Necklace on: July 11, 2007 02:26:46 PM
I got in a crafting mood in anticipation for all the HP releases coming up. I made this necklace using two strands of seed beads, one silver and one black. I don't know if you can see it but it's a silver owl with a star on its belly. Next to it is a charm that is an envelope open with a heart coming out. For those don't know Harry Potter, owls deliver the mail in the wizarding world.

I also made this watch using Gryffindor colors. I'm pretty pleased with it except it's incredibly big. When I am able to go to my bead shop I will get more wire and restring it smaller but for now it will look pretty on my purse strap LOL.

I made these earrings using left over beads I had laying around and I like how it matches my necklace.
