Those are so cute! I saw them as well in Family Fun magazine.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: 88 squares later on: December 12, 2007 09:59:15 PM
That's awesome...I'm working on one in almost the same colors...except not quite...It's my Gryffindor blanket so it's more of a golden yellow and maroonish red. I am alternating the squares though...1 red in the middle 1 yellow etc... That looks great!

ETA: Can you tell me how much yarn you used and what size the squares are? I have a feeling I'm making my squares WAY too big and it's going to be HUGE. This is my first crochet project.

Cute and although a size xxl isn't HUGE (I wear that size) it was big enough and perfect to be made into a doggie sweater  Wink
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Great, Quick last minute Chocolate Cherry Gift Mice (complete w/ photos) on: December 08, 2007 09:54:47 PM
I just made a bunch of these - due to complaints of the people who are allergic to nuts, I've tried these with teddy graham 'feet' for the ears and they look reasonable - not as nice as the almond slivers but it's an alternative. due to the greater weight of the cookie bits I found it was better to let these set up a little before applying the ears. Or a lot. Dipping the rough ends of the cookie bits in the leftover melted chocolate makes a decent 'glue' if the chocolate on the cherries has already set.

If you were closer I'd hug you! I have a friend whose son is severely allergic to nuts and I'm always looking for stuff to make for him!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: I've moved on... to cup warmers. (pic heavy) on: December 08, 2007 07:54:37 PM
cute!  but, yknow, it'd be a little more green if they'd take their own cup instead of using the ones there, especially the bf.  just a thought.  (:

Yeah and they could still use these on the travel cups so they still wouldn't burn their hands! Great idea!
