1  I can crochet!! in Crochet: Completed Projects by TreadmillKnitter on: October 16, 2007 09:20:44 PM
Squeee! I can't believe it! After 3.5 years of knitting I have actually figured out crochet! I started off just practicing single crochet across 6 stitches and it ended up being a 6 foot scarf! I made it in Christmas colors because I thought it would take a lot longer than it did. I'm sure I made lots of mistakes. I even attempted a single crochet border in white. Again I'm sure I did it wrong but I like it so who cares if it's done right hehe. Hope you enjoy! Also ignore the mess on the couch, I've been sick all weekend and thats where I've been laid up crocheting.

2  Halloween earrings and Christmas Keychains by my son in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by TreadmillKnitter on: October 09, 2007 12:20:23 PM
Today was a very crafty day! I made a very ugly not postable halloween pin that no one will be wearing. Seriously. BUT the idea for the pin got my wheels turning and I made these earrings!

Semi-close up

Then my son and I made maracas with paper plates, yarn, markers and beans. It was quite messy and major fun making up songs afterwards but after all that fun was done we pulled out the shrinky dinks (I'm now addicted) and made these...one for each grandma...for Christmas presents. I cut the circle out of the plastic...let him go to town doodling with sharpies, wrote his name and the year on it, punched a hole, baked it and beaded it. I think they will love them.

3  Re: Stash-Be-Gone-Along? in Knitalongs by TreadmillKnitter on: October 09, 2007 12:13:36 PM
the shirt kinda blinded me but when I covered it up I love that hat!

I have been using up my stash knitting dishcloths (which my son instantly steals and hides until bathtime! I am also knitting him a big rainbow blanket. It's hideously ugly but he's in love with it!

4  My newest earrings, shrinky dink style in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by TreadmillKnitter on: October 08, 2007 07:19:42 PM
So these are kinda teeny-bop looking but I am in love with them! They kinda remind me of mod party earrings.

and here's a close up so you can see it better

5  Two Shrinky Dink Keychains in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by TreadmillKnitter on: October 06, 2007 10:02:58 AM
These were made by my 5 year son and I. We are doing keychains for Christmas presents this year. We decided to do mock-ups today. The heart I drew out and he colored and cut it out. I baked it and put it on the keychain. The "J" I did. My husband said it doesn't look like a cursive "J". What do you guys think? I know it's not the best but it was my first time working with these.

6  Some earrings I've made... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by TreadmillKnitter on: October 06, 2007 10:00:25 AM
I made these yesterday. I bought the charms for some shrinky dink keychains I was going to do and well they weren't turning out good at all so I made earrings instead LOL.

7  Re: Fall is coming! Knit along in Knitalongs by TreadmillKnitter on: October 05, 2007 09:10:22 PM
Alright here is my updated (changed and more realistic approach added) list

Calorimetry
Carolyn
Natty
Fetching
Irish Hiking Scarf
Chunky Cabled Beanie
Connections from KnittingDaily
One other Cardigan pattern not picked out yet
Banana Republic Knock Off hat
Rainbow Blanket for my son

I am a very slow knitter. I mean seriously. There's no way I will have a cardigan done by fall or even winter for that matter so those are getting pushed to winter knitting and into spring for next year. Plus I'm losing weight so I'll knit a smaller size and I can use it as a goal. I'm sticking with scarfs, hats, and wrist warmers because that's what I will use most.

Here is my progress so far on the blanket. I'm to 61 sts. I have to go to 207 sts and then decrease down. Usually on big projects like this, this is where I give up, frog it and use the yarn for headbands but like I said before T (my son) just comes and watches me knit and loves to see the progress so it will get done with his determination!

I finished my feather and fan! I could've been done a few days ago but I've been in a depression and not wanting to knit.

9  Semi-Completed Project! in Knitting: Completed Projects by TreadmillKnitter on: August 02, 2007 08:25:21 PM
I know this is supposed to be for completed projects but I couldn't wait to share this! MY FIRST INTARSIA PROJECT!! I've always been too scared to try it, but I checked out a book "Picture Knits" from the library and it was a lot of help! I'll post again when it's actually finished but this is also my first time writing a pattern as well!

10  Harry Potter Watch and Necklace in Beads: Completed Projects by TreadmillKnitter on: July 11, 2007 02:26:46 PM
I got in a crafting mood in anticipation for all the HP releases coming up. I made this necklace using two strands of seed beads, one silver and one black. I don't know if you can see it but it's a silver owl with a star on its belly. Next to it is a charm that is an envelope open with a heart coming out. For those don't know Harry Potter, owls deliver the mail in the wizarding world.

I also made this watch using Gryffindor colors. I'm pretty pleased with it except it's incredibly big. When I am able to go to my bead shop I will get more wire and restring it smaller but for now it will look pretty on my purse strap LOL.

I made these earrings using left over beads I had laying around and I like how it matches my necklace.
