King-size Sprout Quilt in Bella Solids

Sorry the photos aren't better, it's taken me about a week to get ones even this good as, with the days being so short, it's still pretty dark when I leave for work and by the time I get home.

This is the first quilt I have completed in about a decade, I made a few baby quilts as a teenager and finished (barely) a double quilt when I was about twenty. Certainly never anything this ambitious.

It's not perfect, the backing is a bit crumpled in places. I didn't think about the fact that I didn't have a space large enough in our house to lay out a king-size quilt for basting until I was already to that point. Smiley And the binding is absolutely a mess, but by that time I was just so ready to have it complete that the thought doing it by hand made me want to gouge my own eyes out with a spoon, so I did it on the machine (which I'm not exactly proficient on) with some* success. But since, for the past week, it has admirably filled the role of the 10-year-old store-bought quilt we were using, that is barely fit for a dropcloth anymore, I've decided not to hold that against it.

From start to finish, piecing and binding on the machine and quilting by hand, it took me about 3 1/2 month to complete, working mostly evenings and weekends with an extra couple of days of vacation thrown in.

Thanks for viewing!

*"some" defined as: it's attached but looks like I did it blindfolded while riding a pogo stick.
