1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Scarfy goodness (image happy) on: September 17, 2009 11:34:36 AM
It's been a long time since I posted here! Thought I'd share some scarflettes I've been making lately. I've been obsessed with wet felting the past month. I dyed the wool for these myself too.

"Undersea" - merino wool

"Caterpillar" - merino wool

"Jenny Wren" merino wool (I bought this batch of wool pre-dyed)

"Sunset Ruffles" merino and shetland, pin and scarf set - I'm not happy with this photo, it really doesn't do the piece justice

"Midnight Blue" BFL - I added embroidery to this one and I really like it!

Thanks for looking!

2  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Needle felted ball earrings on: May 22, 2007 02:29:35 PM
My first picture post!

Here are two pairs of earrings I made by needle felting. They sort of remind me of little ice cream scoops - mint chocolate chip and strawberry swirl  Smiley

I love how they're big and bobbly, but really light.
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / Where To Find Things To Recycle / Free/cheap self-adhesive vinyl on: May 01, 2007 11:22:25 AM
I work at an art gallery and we have to order a lot of vinyl lettering for our walls from a signmaker. Last time I went to pick up our order I noticed that there was a large bin of smaller cut vinyl leftovers in all sorts of pretty colours - I asked about them and they said that when people came in wanting them, they'd either give them to them for free or charge a couple bucks if it was a really big piece. Apparently this is a common thing for signmaking shops to do, since they can't use the leftover pieces. I got enough free pieces to cover 10 containers! Just look in the yellow pages under "signs" for someplace in your area.
