1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: ATC/Paper/Collage artists-how do you keep order?? on: February 17, 2008 04:35:23 PM
Wow! I am impressed and disgusted simultaneously...di sgusted in myself and impressed with all of the organization I read of here! I have a somewhat decent 'Arts/Crafts' room...but with little-to-no organization. I have PILES of stuff: papers, clip art, magazines, found junk, metal pieces, etc...The ideas here are great-I just gotta "do it!"

incredible tip/technique! The speckled stone spray would be awesome and add a texture---another great idea! You rock!

Here's a very tiny tip.Go to a paper supply store (think college) and ask for editors tape. It's very thin almost like 1/8th in. wide.Place it just a little from the edge inward on the ATC.Then paint, user markers,or whatever to color it in.Remove tape and voila clean edges.Or I guess if you can't find it use a ruler? Cheesy. Then put emphanar (excuse spelling) on inside .I'm thinking of using spray paint that looks like stone on edges.Maybe not sure. Undecided

7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Re: Fabric ATCs on: June 06, 2007 10:45:51 AM
could you imagine-a 2-pound ATC!!! hee hee

Anyone use a multitude of media on their fabric ATCs or even on their paper ATCs? Like wallpaper, beads, sea glass, polymer clay, wire, sequins, metal, buttons,..., etc. I mean has anyone 'let lose' on an ATC and used other items than just mere paper? I have seen some really REALLY cool ATCs using almost anything "'found'". They have taken the items and incorporated them into their ART as ART themselves, esp. as ATCs.

I've used almost all of that: wallpaper, clay, wire, buttons, metal, fabric, stitching, etc...but NOT all on the same card.  It would get REALLY heavy and thick.  I also use found images too.

See now-read the entires-I would love the green specks-I am weird that way! BTW, the brownie recipe...yummy! My dessert!!! Thank you!

I made these brownies just the other day. I thought they came out more like cake than brownies, but definitely still good!

ahhh...gesso! Can cover and prime a surface so nicely. I love stamping on it-add color(inks, acrylics) and vintage (clip art-copyright free) images-voila! Brush gel medium-gloss-over the piece. I have done this 'on' a little chunky book-altered it! Add ribbon, fibers, charms, etc...Fun.
