i LOVE this skirt and the other dress you posted!! posts like these make me wish i knew how to sew things. they look great on you too.

Thanks for your comments! The tiles are actually made of little moon cutouts of clay, that were slightly textured. I then went over them with some metallic gold acrylic. I guess I should have shown more detail, but I was so excited to post my first project I neglected to take more pictures .

I like your idea of the driftwood. I'll actually be moving within the next 2 months, so I haven't hung it up as of yet. I'm thinking bathroom too, or maybe even a small part of wall that needs a piece of interest.

nanner - Thanks! Yes I plan on hanging it on a wall. I am debating though how I should hang it, or if I should add anything else before hanging it. What do you think?

SupernovaDesigns - The little shiny part in the lower right hand corner is actually a piece of polished abalone. I love abalone and occasionally find some pretty unpolished (of course ) pieces on the beach, but I just couldn't pass it up!

I have been commenting on other people's posts for awhile now, but haven't gotten a chance to post one of my projects! I finally found my card reader so I can now join in on all the fun.

This wasn't my first creation with polymer clay (I tried a few things here and there), but it is my first real project with it.

It is composed of small polymer clay "tiles" for the background. The fish itself is made of polymer clay, a painted shell for the eye, and an old earring piece for the tail. A mixture of found/purchased shells are on the sand, and some leaves from an old fake plant were used to make some "kelp". The entire piece is on copper wire form.
