Has anyone tried the square app for credit card processing? I got an iPad for Christmas and I downloaded the app but haven't tried it yet. Anyone using it?
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Oh deer! Adorable machine embroidery on: July 28, 2010 05:57:39 PM
Here are some images that I digitized and machine embroidered. I really like the way they turned out.

Here's some close-ups:

This was the first time that I have used this software to digitize and it certainly took a while to get the hang of it!
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / clothing hang tags on: December 03, 2008 09:01:45 PM
i have a craft show coming up and wanted to come up with new hang tags for my clothing items.  this is what i came up with.  i printed my design on heavy cardstock 100# i think, and then hole punched the center and added a 1" button that i made.  i printed my website address in the margin on the side of the button. i'm delighted with the way they came out! i know that people lose business cards all the time and wanted to come up with a way for them to keep my info so i thought this would be perfect! i found this site http://buttonmakers.net/button_design_help.htm which lets you download a template for perfect placement of perimeter text.

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / painted shoes, how much are these worth on: November 12, 2008 02:54:22 PM
i usually have no problem pricing my items, but i'm stuck on this one.  these are shoes that i painted. i used to own a store and had a mountain of shoes laying around. i painted 8 pairs of these beauties but i'm stuck on pricing.  i paid next to nothing for the shoes themselves, maybe $4 a pair, and it took me about 6 hours to paint them all.  what would be a fair price? how much would you pay for these?

sorry about the picture quality.  they look hand painted but the lines are pretty neat and clean. thanks for looking.  please help!

i made this owl bag. it's pretty much just a jordy bag with piping and an applique. i used buttons for the owl eyes. i'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. it has a magnetic button closure.

close up of the owl. i think he's pretty cute.

lining, matches the piping on the front

sorry for the crappy cell phone pics Sad
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / recycled plastic #6 shrinky dinks on: September 24, 2008 03:49:54 PM
i came across this website and was wondering if anyone has tried this technique with any success? basically you can use a #6 plastic the same way you can shrink film.  http://www.curbly.com/Chrisjob/posts/2252-DIY-Shrinky-Dinks-

10  COOKING / Dessert / help me find this toffee cookie recipe!! on: December 11, 2004 12:09:20 PM
ok, so i'm hoping that with my vague clues someone will know what i'm talking about.  last year i bought some toffee pieces,  they were either skor or heath, i can't recall which, and on the package was a cookie recipe.  i'm in desperate search of this recipe, i knew i should have saved it!  anyway, does anyone have this recipe??
