I made these using a pattern from knitsonya.com, and adapting it a bit.  I only wish I had made them at the beginning of winter!  One of my friends told me that yarn socks + baby powder + wood floors = lots of fun, but I haven't tried it yet!

I can't take credit for this, I saw the idea on yummygoods.com...bu t I had an old frame that I couldn't bring myself to throw away, and after painting it white, it worked perfectly for this.


The papers are from Heartwarming Vintage...I love their stuff.

This is a collage/illustration that I made on a wood block to make sure that I keep a good attitude for 2008, and know that no matter what life throws at me this year, I can handle it.

I made two pillow cases for the throw pillows in our living room.  The red matches our accent walls, and the blue is a little lighter than the other walls, but the closest I could find.  Anyway, I used an envelope backing for the pillows, but the first one didn't quite fit, so the envelope is spread open a bit.  Then I sewed the back of the second pillow on backwards!  But hey, as long as nobody flips them over they look just fine!

Anyway, this is shadowbox that is collaged in the back with pictures of the U.S. (Golden Gate, New York City, Mt. Rushmore).  The couple in the hot air balloon are my grandparents, based on their senior photos from the 1930's.  The balloon is counter-weighted to the sun, so that the sun sets behind a cloud as the balloon rises.  Enid's arm is jointed so that she can grasp the basket or hang onto Frances' arm.  I didn't make the paper flowers on the bottom, but I did make the origami stars around the upper edges of the frame.

My daughter and I love the show Yo Gabba Gabba.  Brobee is my personal favorite, so I had to make a little Brobee out of a styrofoam egg, felt, etc.

I'm addicted to making Shrinky Dink charms, especially since you can run the plastic through your computer's printer.  I've done quite a few of my illustrations as charms and they work out pretty good, but if you do it remember to use the printer-friendly sheets and then seal them with a spray or else the ink will run when it gets wet--I found that out the hard way  .
