11  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / A birthday present! on: February 20, 2008 12:47:56 AM
I made this dress for ammasmama's babys first birthday!  Im a bit late, but I did it!  Its wonderfully cute (I think so anyways)!  I have to make another one for my daughter!  I got the fabric at Ikea and the patterns is newlook 6688.  I tweaked it up a bit and added the tux front.  I have been dreaming up this dress for a while but winter (what ever I live in Texas) slowed me up a bit.  sooo yes sireee here it it!  Hopfully I will get some action shots to add later *hint hint*

12  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Black and white modern party dress and hippo swirls on: January 16, 2008 05:27:53 PM
Its been a while since I posted, but here I am with another party dress
Its my daughters 2nd birthday this week end, so I think this will be her party dress!
This pattern is  newlook 6688.

Sneaky pete over here!

I made this last week, its a bit matchy matchy but I think it will do nicely separately! Its too big now, I made it for summer.

I think my zipper turned out perrty so I grabbed a shot of it too!
13  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Octopus, J B weld, Eye balls, bling on: November 26, 2007 08:17:42 PM
Im usually sewing up party dresses for my daughter, but the other night I decided to jump in my 1800s pirates chest full of costume jewelry and other yummy trashlets...

I glued every thing on the back of one of my broken danish modern chairs that I cant part with.

Sorry about the crappy picture, I have been trying for days to get some good light but it just wasn't happening.

The eyes are glass doll eyes...they look super cool in person.

A few years ago I had this (among many others) old type writer that i spent 2 weeks taking apart...those things were made way too well! It was worth it.

Thats all!
14  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Day of the dead christmas dress on: November 22, 2007 10:32:02 PM
Ok so maybe not that christmasy but its festive AND has green and red! As some of you might have noticed I made an UGLY christmas dress the other day.  It put me in a bad mood and made me feel incompetent...yes I'm over dramatic and crazy  Cheesy Grin Soooo I stayed up late last night making this dress, I am much happier with this one! I think I need to stick to what I know...and themed holiday dresses is not something I excel in...unless it was cute  vintage christmas fabric...especially by Alexander henry...have you seen it? Its cute. Ok crazy crazy crazy..... Here is the new and improved dress

Maybe if Kookoo is in a good mood she will model it for me tomorrow and I will take action shots.
15  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Amy Butler is lovley! on: November 21, 2007 01:22:13 PM
I love Amy Butler, I have been wanting to buy this fabric for a while and I finally went out on a limb and did it! It was $9 a yard...thats expensive for me! I think it was worth it though, I made it a size too big so she can grow in to it!

Still in her PJS!

And here is my stupid Christmas dress.  I really dont like it.  It looks more like a Mexican flag...nothing against Mexican flags, I just dont this they belong on party dresses!

I think I should have used just red with a white ribbon. Maybe I will rip it apart tonight and fix it.

As you can see, she want very excited about it either!
16  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Arrrgh is for girly skulls! on: November 16, 2007 04:12:09 PM
I made these a week or two ago, I have been waiting for some action shots but I haven't had a chance, this kid is getting too fast for me!

I think I'm done with the skull theme for now, unless I find some thats been hiding from me...

17  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / skullie vegbee patchwork twirly dress!!!! on: November 03, 2007 10:05:43 PM

Here is the link, I think every one should go ahead and just make one! Now go! http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2007/05/patchwork-circle-skirt.html

She might look sweet but she was really trying to pull her over... grunting and all... possibly about to get mad

This was the ONLY twirl(ish) action shot I could get CRASH AND BURN!! She got a little translucent huh!
18  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Campy atomic 50's party dress (and a scoodie!) on: October 24, 2007 09:41:34 PM
I accidentally found this fabric the other day in Hancocks, and I was REALLY excited because it was only $4 a yard! YAY! I bought the rest, so I cant go back and buy more Sad I wanted to make her a matching scoodie, or a blanket or SOMETHING!

How rad is this for only $4 a yard!!

I think I should start a vegbe fan club, she always has the best tutes, how awesome is it of her to take the time for all these tute projects?!?! Ok Im done being creepy. I love these scoodies, Im going to make me a matching one!  I couldnt get the kid to stay still for pictures so I have several models....

I just COULD not get a good picture! I should have taken it outside,

I tired me, it wasnt much better

So I tried skully, my handy model that doesnt fuss!

He did the best, I must say! But of course I had to take 20 more just in case... but her are only 2 more
