I made these for my daughter while I was pregnant.  I love them!  The pattern was great I got it here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vt_related_1&listing_id=30846508

My daughter just fit in them today! She is one month old and her name is Beatrix Matilda Smiley

And just because!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Party dresses and a kimono top on: May 04, 2009 11:10:54 PM
Soooo its been a good six months since I've really made anything for the kid and been on here.  I saw Vegbee's post and it reminded me that I actually have something to post!  Im all knocked up and have been totally unmotivated till recently.  So Im back on the old beast machine!  At least for now...

First I have a party dress made with Alexander Henry fabric, Regent Skull.  I love it, and I love this fabric!  Im totally making fitted crib sheets with this stuff (I say that about all fabric I own).

So totally bored....

And the anime ninja girl dress, she LOOVES this one!

One to grow on

With the same fabric, a not so well made but still cute kimono top.  I used this tutorial http://habitual.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/habitual_simplekimonov2.pdf
from this blog http://habitual.wordpress.com/

Bribed with a marshmallow and, again, so totally bored...
(as you might have noticed, I kind of suck at bias tape and I didnt have matching thread!  Embarrassed )

Thanks for looking!

Im going to flop on the couch and try to pass out in between pokes from the little destroyer....
Peace out...
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Octopus dress on: August 12, 2008 09:50:58 PM
FIRST OFF I WANT TO SAY THAT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS POST LOOKS BECAUSE THE PREVIEW OPTION ISNT WORKING!  SO FORGIVE ME IF ITS WONKY!

My inspiration:
When I went to Hawaii last year for my step sisters wedding I would oogle the squid snacks because of the awesome kawaii japanese pop packaging,  I will be the first to admit that I am for sure for sure a package whore (thats right I said "for sure" twice!).  If you package it right, i want it!  Anyways these super nasty "make me wanna ralph" squid treats had me in their clutches every time we walked by the snack isle in the ABC stores (basically 711 with stereotypical cheap Hawaiian souvenirs... loved em!), (I never did taste them by the way).  The images stuck in my head for ever and ever, so when I saw this octopus fabric I was in LOVE! I was going to make the whole dress with the octi but my intuition told me NO! Anyways, I love the way it turned out,  No more rambles... here is the dress.

UGH! 2.5 years old and she STILL has that thing in her mouth!!!  Were potty training right now, next is that damn pacifier!

Uhhh I hope this worked...

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / SUPER MARTIAN ROBOT GIRL!!!! Costume on: July 24, 2008 01:39:40 PM
This is my daughters FIRST (not last) super hero costume! She loooves playing super hero, so its perfect.  My friend gave me a bunch of scraps from a dress she made for some ones prom dress (wowza!). I think this is my all time favorite project.  I just used my usual party dress pattern (newlook 6688), and a snap on cape.  I had the double up on the skirt fabric because the silver was so thin.  I also sewed 2 strips of ribbon together to make is super flashy  Grin

My husbands grandfathers birthday is this weekend, its gonna be big time (70 people) Im really tempted to let her wear it... we will see...

Soooo you looove it??? I DO I DO! I think my husband and i should have matching ones.

Shield your eyes!!!

She is working on her super moves!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / 80s punk pirate party dress on: April 19, 2008 09:35:46 PM
Ok I saw this fabric in Joanns and INSTANTLY thought of the dress I saw in here a few weeks ago with the other joanns skully fabric and a big fat pink ribbon!  I tried to find the post, but is lost! So who ever you were, thanks for the inspiration!

Like usual the pattern is newlook 6688

I added the tulle, voices in my head TOLD me to not put it in the dryer (DUH!) but I did so now the tulle is all crinkly and weird.  A few people told me they like it better like that because it kind of goes with the pirate theme.  What do you think?  I cant decide if I should rip it out and do it over.

Any ways here tis

It doesn't look like it but the print is all silvery and cute!

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My week of shrinky dinks, I need an intervention! on: April 08, 2008 01:46:30 AM

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / 2 Amy Butler peasant blouses (nope no party dresses here!) on: March 15, 2008 09:37:06 PM
Sooo I have been oogling vegbees peasant blouse tute, but Im totally lame and bought a pattern.  Im sooo intimidated about making patterns from online tutes! I dont trust my measuring skills!  So yes here is my shirt made from a store bought pattern that could have been free...

To Vegbee: its me not you...   Cry

I think it only took me about 30 45 minutes to sew.  The kid needs shirts so Im going to make her a crap load!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Does any one know how to make a clip on bow tie? on: March 15, 2008 04:40:02 PM
I need to make a clip on bow tie for a 2 year old.  I can figure out the bow part but what about the clip? Can you buy the clips some where?
