951  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Doing it in public: Leave me alone and let me knit! on: May 28, 2007 12:27:10 AM
I love the uplugged headphones idea, I used to just leave my headphones on whether or not my ipod was on. If anybody tries to talk to me ( and yes a lot of people are rude enough to interrupt) , i just fake like i can't hear them. If i didn't have headphones , I would just continue on staring intently at my knitting and giving one word asnwers until they got the point. I don't mind the occasional when someone is honestly interesting in my knitting but pointless questions from people with no concept of personal space really really annoy me. Thats why I rarely knit in public anymore.

That is adorable, I particularly love the bunny fabric! I made one today as my very first solo sewing project. I don't have a sewing machine so I did the whole thing by hand. I used snaps instead of elastic and didn't discover i put them on lopsided till i had slip stitched it shut. oops!

Patronizing!? No way! I love detailed tutorials , makes things much easier.  The cozy is soo cute (especially the polka dots!!) and useful I just have to put it on my list! I've never sewn with fleece before though, hopefully its not too much of a pain Smiley

Congratulations on getting published! This is soooo going to be part of my fiance's birthday/welcome home present!! He's been joking about needing a superman costume forever and he's just the sort of guy who'd appreciate a wallet from little boy underwear!

I love that!!!!!! Just as soon as I can work out how to make my very own, I will be making one in my signature shade of pink! Oh, and I love that action shot of the skirt! So very artsy  Smiley

I saw that pattern on the Kwiksew website but didn't like it. Yours without the piping is too cute! You made a great choice with the fabric and lining  Smiley

That has to be one of the cutest bags I have seen in my 23 years of purse obsssion! Your tutorial is great, very detailed. I always do terribly with vague directions!
959  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: 32 days of strike (=2 clapotis and one penguin and lots of pics) on: May 20, 2007 12:20:02 PM
I love the penguin! You did a great job! I really need to read knitty more often...

Your clapotis looks so soft and cozy! I've never seen one like that. Never really liked the pattern before but yours makes me want to give it a try. What yarn did you use?
