1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How long to knit a baby cardigan? on: January 16, 2014 01:50:20 PM
Just roughly? I've been asked to knit 2 baby cardigans for a colleague- I've only done adult ones before so I have no idea how long it will take me and therefore how much to charge her.
Any ideas on prices would be welcome too Cheesy

ETA: I'm a moderately quick knitter and the pattern is mostly st-st in DK yarn.
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Charity Stall craft ideas on: November 24, 2012 08:51:28 AM
My mum just sprang this on me a couple of days back- she's running a stall at her school's christmas bazaar to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has asked me to make a few bits to sell.
So far I've got little purses (framed and zippered), pencil cases and hand warmers.
Can anyone think of any ideas for other quick things (since I only have a couple of weeks) that will sell well on the day? I don't have an outlet to sell them afterwards so need to get rid of most of it on the day and then palm them off on people for Christmas  Wink

I can sew, knit, crochet, have dabbled in a bit of soap making but I'd be happy to try anything really.

Thanks in advance Cheesy
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Do you feel like there's enough fabric choice? on: October 31, 2012 06:01:08 PM
Just an opinion poll and thoughts really.
I feel like I can never find the sort of fabric I'm after, or it's just way too pricey (I enjoy sewing, but I can't let it drain all of my funds!)
There's nothing locally so everything is done online- which sometimes sucks because you can't see the fabric beforehand.
So I just wanted to hear people's thoughts on their fabric buying experiences. Do you feel like you have enough choice?
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help knitting a cardigan (Agatha, Andi Satterlund) on: September 06, 2012 11:38:18 AM
Hi everyone- this is my first post I believe and it's going to be a whinge, sorry  Tongue
I am not at all new to knitting, but usually knit homey items rather than clothes, so this is my first cardigan.
I'm knitting the Agatha cardigan by Andi Satterlund
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/agatha-6

It's hard!!!!!
The pattern provides you with 3 panels separate to the instructions. It is a multi-size pattern.
The medium size says cast on 69 stitches (but so does the small!!!) fine, ok, cast on.

First off, when it instructs 'work panel 1' am I to just knit row 1 from panel 1 and then continue?

That's what I've been doing, and it seems to work ok but now I'm stuck: the last two rows (10 and 11) are repeated 17 times. Row 10 ends with 71 stitches, row 11 ends with 77 (which coincidentally is the final stitch count of the large)
The final stitch count should be 69.
Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
Am I completely missing something?
Here's a screen shot of rows 10 and 11:

and the panels:

On the first go of row 10 I should be on row 1 of panel 1 and row 5 of panel 2 (if what I said above is correct, if not then I haven't got a clue!)
I've nearly killed my fiance over this pattern but I so want to do it, any help will be much appreciated Smiley
