1  Re: Big Project Stitchalong 2008 in Needlework: Stitchalongs by Leah_Danielle on: January 11, 2008 08:03:05 PM
I currently have two projects that I am working on.

The first one is called Lucky Fan. It's from Design Works Kit #2331. It will be 13" by 22" and i'm sewing it on 14 count. Here's a picture I found online of it

And the only camera I have with me right now is my camera phone, and I didn't want to wait to post, so here's my WIP Lucky Fan picture. Colors aren't right, but it gives an idea.

The other project is Sleeping Beauty. It's from Bucilla Kit #42079. It will be 13" by 13" and I'm sewing it on 28 count. Here's the online pic I found

And here is the camera phone WIP Sleeping Beauty picture.

The Sleeping Beauty one is wayyy detailed and has tons of refining lines for extra detail after the initial cross stitch part. Plus its so teeny tiny. Makes for more concentration on all sides. That's why I'm working on the Lucky Fan as well. Its way simple compared to the other and on much bigger count.

I'll take better pictures later when I get my camera fixed.

2  Re: voodoo doll-along? (you can't deny the revenge festering in your hearts!!!) in Craftalongs by Leah_Danielle on: January 06, 2008 09:59:16 PM
i made a sting doll awhile back that ended up looking like a voodoo doll. I'm going to make some more too. I love them!

3  Random string doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Leah_Danielle on: December 16, 2007 07:25:20 PM
I head over to a girlfriend's house of mine for Craft night ever week, but she has kids so personal crafts don't always get started right away. We have to have some 'kid craft' time first. So this usually consists of my making some random doo-dads out of her stash of kid friendly items. One night, I made this string doll out of yarn! (Don't ask me which kind, I have no idea, it was just there, so I used it.) I plan on making more out of different kinds of yarn. He kind of ended up looking like a voodoo doll, but I still love it. (The fact that he looks like a voodoo doll might make me love him even more)

The head is made completely out of string, no base, but I cheated for the body and made a little pipecleaner body as a base for the string to wrap around.

This one will help you see what size it is, that's a cell phone it is sitting on.

Sidenote: I showed my family what I made and my nephew (21 months) was carrying it around hugging it, rubbing it on his face, loving on it. He called it a "babyyyyyy". Too cute!! Makes me think if I made the string more attached to the doll (final glue coating I guess) then I could give these to some kids.

Yay! First official post of something I made!

4  Re: 2008 Handmade Calendar Swap (Sign Ups 10/6/07-10/19/07, Send Out 11/26/07) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Leah_Danielle on: November 24, 2007 06:43:02 PM
I thought I would show everyone part of the reason why i will be sending late (oh yeah: hey all in my group, I'll be sending a little late but it will be worth it I hope when you see final product). I was originally planning on just a couple of days later but then this happened this weekend and it majorly limits my crafting. Plus it hurts soooooo bad. I can't believe it happened even.
