321  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My new purse hanger on: June 08, 2007 02:13:51 PM
I love sewing purses but I was running out of room to store them in. So I decided to find a accordion coat hanger to display them on. I looked high and low and the only one I could find was rainbow. So I repainted it and then accessorized it. The grey may seem a bit dim but I redid my craft room in grey tones with touches of red.

322  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Collage Dragon Goddess necklace holder on: May 16, 2007 11:43:05 AM
Well this started as a basic need to hang up some chunkier necklaces. First it was just the would board painted with hooks...didn't like it. Then I found some mosaic stained glass pieces and added the mirror...needed more so I added the polymer clay dragon goddess in the middle.

The worst part was I didn't have any grout so I threw together some Plaster of Paris and painted it black and sealed it with poly.

323  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Pretty in pink(and brown) clothes hook on: May 14, 2007 07:56:09 PM
I bought these a few years ago to put up in my daughters room. They were just your typical plain wood hooks from the craft store. Anyway she went out of her Disney princess theme and wanted something more glamorous. By the way she's 8 going on 25. So I whipped out the pink and brown paint and found my stash of misc. wood pieces and Viola!

and to show their 3-D

She loves them both but I'm keeping the heart for my craft room.
324  Florida / Florida: North / Sorta new to Jacksonville on: May 09, 2007 07:34:45 AM
I am in need for some good fabric stores. Joannes' dosen't have the variety that I need. Neither does walmart or hobby lobby. Help?
325  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Simple hair pick on: May 07, 2007 06:11:04 PM
It can't get any simpler then a chopstick and polymer clay. I have thick hair so all I have to do is put it in a french-knot and poke it through.
326  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Beach Bag on: May 07, 2007 06:06:31 PM
I got the basic idea from a craft magazine and tweaked it a little. It is basically 2 cotton terry cloth cut and re-sewn into a simple block pattern. I lined it with felt and put in pockets. I love it. Here's the downside. Terry cloth when cut sheds like you have no idea. I swear it was worse then dealing with fake fur.
327  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Faerie Dresser on: May 07, 2007 05:58:12 PM
This dresser has been a hand-me-down in my family for over 30 yrs and I am the last. Anyway my kids out grew the dresser size so I decided to convert it into my craft storage dresser. I painted the dresser white and went to the dollar store and found this great wrapping paper and decopaged the drawers and a little accent on the sides.

328  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / I forgot what these are called? on: May 02, 2007 09:11:37 AM
I was in a craft store and saw a paperdoll stamp figured I could do something with polymerclay.

329  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / I want my Mummy on: May 02, 2007 09:09:24 AM
Here he is. Wire armature covered with dyed stained fabric. Isn't he cute?
330  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Cigar Box Purse on: May 02, 2007 09:06:31 AM
I am so happy with the way this turned out! It's polymer clay stamped with a little decopaged border cigar box. Hope you like it!
