261  Matching Kitty hat and gloves in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Kimmermonroe on: January 02, 2008 04:39:34 AM
So I was checking the weather for the future forcast and it said it was supposed to drop to a low of 20!!!  Cry I live in the Florida so I was a little upset by this and a little unprepared. That and I hate the cold.
Anyway my DD grew out of her hat and gloves and needed a new set, so I whipped out my sewing machine and TADA. We had a toasty warm kitty hat and gloves. The hat and back of the gloves are made from a recycled grey wool sweater that I felted and the "Paw" is made from some heavy duty felt scraps I had.

262  Purple Punk Poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Kimmermonroe on: December 24, 2007 02:15:27 PM
You have got to love ghilie. Really. I made this doll for DD for Xmas. I can't wait to make another. I did learn one important thing from this doll. Women's fake eyelashes are a lot easier to work with then doll eyelashes. I tried the doll eyelashes first and they fell apart while I was placing them.

I made a Pudgy Pony for my DD for Xmas. The hair really does match the pony I don't know why it photographed this way.

265  Strange stuffie for DS for Xmas in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Kimmermonroe on: December 24, 2007 01:59:49 PM
12 yr old boys are so hard to make stuffed animals for. I came up with this little guy for him for Xmas.
He stands about 2 feet tall and what you can't see clearly is that he has embroidery of a "swirlies" on the green.

266  Polish coin necklace Xmas gift in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Kimmermonroe on: December 24, 2007 01:55:46 PM
I made these for DD and DS for Xmas. My DS has a fascination with Polish Pride. I bought the coins on ebay and punched a hole through and strung in leather.

267  What hapens to an old belt you find while cleaning out your closet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Kimmermonroe on: December 18, 2007 09:27:36 AM
I was cleaning out my closet and found this little goodie in the back. I bought it a few years ago and didn't like the way it hung on me, so it was sentenced to the back. I knew right as I saw it what I wanted to do.

269  Ugly Rattan, your time has come in CHALLENGE 23 ENTRIES by Kimmermonroe on: December 01, 2007 08:57:10 AM
So here's the basic story. I needed a new patio set. We just purchased our 1st house(Yippee) and I wanted a nice patio set to sit and gaze at our beautiful landscaped yard. I found this set on craigslist for $40 but since the challenge was for $20 I will only show the chair not the love seat.
I have to start with how BAD that chair smelled. When I say bad I mean left out in the rain for a week mildew stink.
So I made some fabric refresher (I make my own, no Febreze here)  ripped the UGLY covers off and sprayed those cushion like they were on fire.
While the cushions were being soaked I went to Walmart got my $1 a yard fabric and some chocolate colored spray paint.
3 days later, that's how long the stink stuck for, I made the slip covers and pillows.
I never made a slipcover with "mitered" edges before so that was a challenge in itself.
Enough rambling I give you before and after.

270  Easy hair clips in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Kimmermonroe on: November 20, 2007 05:59:49 AM
Every once in awhile I feel an urge to make hairclips. I must own like 100 of them. I keep them in a box in my craft area to use for quick emergency gifts. Here are a few I just made.
