Thanks for sharing I'm sick of feeling like I'm incarcerated by my vertical blinds

I have another option for using sheets as curtains.  I live in apt and in the living room I have sliding glass doors.  Of course they were covered by those horrible verticle blinds - I hate them... makes me feel like I'm living in a hotel.

Well, I didn't want to take them down cuz then I'd have to hang them back up when I left.  BUT had an excellent brainstorm one night (thank you Yellow Tail Merlot!!).

I took the blinds off the curtain thingy.  They are held into the track by clips and are easily popped out.  Then I grabbed a Full flat sheet (full as opposed to King or Twin), turned it on it's side and slide the sheet into the clips.  The small hem down the sides allows it to stay clipped in.  And voila!  Functional window treatment.  It's cool cuz you can still use the pully strings to pull it open and closed.  And you can paint or dye the sheets to match your decor.

Would highly recommend this for those of you who hate verticle blinds as much as I do.

She's referred to as "Mudflap Girl" and there are so many cool products featuring her. We have a yellow mudflap girl car air freshener that we hang off our rearview mirror. If your interested in a free stencil, I found one here:

I'm into the Shabby Chic look and the prices of tea towels with similar pretty trims here in Australia are shocking. Now I can make them next to nothing. Thanks for sharing your tutorial, so easy!

Oatmeal is so good for your skin. I buy organic oatmeal that I then refine and keep in a jar to use as a cleanser. Just grab a handful, add a little water to bring out its milky substance, wash your face and rinse. When you consider that your skin absorbs 60% of what you put on it, this is so pure.

Thanks for sharing, I love it. Hanging files are a great invention, if I didn't have them, my papers would be a mess. I must get more cabinets and files to adopt this idea lol.

Looks fantastic, I love it. I have some 70's instructions to make silhouettes of people and pets. I've been meaning to make side profiles of myself and my fiance to put above our bed. I'm inspired by your example. I will post it here when I get around to it.
