yay! it turned out soooooo SWEET! i love the length on her. cute cute! and you must have inherited some of your mom's brilliance or learned by osmosis or something, because it certainly doesn't show that you are new to sewing.

it's cute as is, but if you aren't happy with it, i say "crap it up!" (meant in the very best of craptastic ways, of course) bring on the ribbons and sleeve poofs and underskirts! Wink
46  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: button shirt to toddler dress recon *NEW MINTY FRESH TUTORIAL* on: February 07, 2008 09:13:00 AM
I'm in the middle of this project, and I must say that it is SO easy, even for a total beginner like me! One question about the knife pleating, though...and it may be a silly question. On the tutorial link you posted, it showed the blogger knife pleating a single layer of fabric. I was wondering if the knife pleats you did are "doubled up", pleating two layers of fabric with a pressed edge? That probably made no sense at all! Thanks for any tips on the pleating.

yay! i'm always happy to hear folks think this is easy. Smiley i believe i used the selvage edge at the bottom of the knife pleat, so mine was just one layer. but you could certainly do it with 2 layers and a pressed edge.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! i just have to say for like the millionth time, your girlie is sooooooo soooooo precious. the ears are so amazingly cute. i MUST make one of those. i'm thinking that would be a great xmas present for the schmoo.

too too freakin' cute as usual. i'm LOVING LOVING LOVING the dress. i have some retro fabrics (not as cool as what you manage to find, though) that are crying out for something like that.

and if you started that vegbee "queen of the tutes" fan club, i'd be right there with you as a charter member. how much does she rock, eh? i have to confess that i've secretly been a member of the tuff_as_snails fan club of cyber stalkers for a while now, but i'm sure i've got some more creepy to go around. Wink
