1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Collage Paper Swap? on: August 20, 2008 06:06:46 AM
I know there have been paper swaps in the past but I haven't seen one in a while.  I almost purchased a paper pile of cutout images and thought maybe it's time for a swap!  I can't be the only one looking for some collage and art journal inspiration!

Anyone interested in filling a large envelope with papers, images, and other ephemera for a swap?
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Pouch with Amy Butler leftovers! on: April 06, 2008 05:28:53 PM
I can never have enough little zipper pouches, and when I had this leftover Amy Butler fabric that I love and recovered my craft room chair cushions in (see the post in Home Sweet Home section) I had to use it!

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recovered chair seats in Amy Butler Fabric! on: April 06, 2008 05:23:16 PM
I've started decorating my craft room in red and aqua (with a bit of pink).  I found the perfect Amy Butler fabric to recover my vintage chair's seats with.

This was the chair with older cushion before....

This is the new cushion!

this is my inspiration board:
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Bits and Pieces Box - Vintage Jewelry leftovers! on: March 30, 2008 08:56:32 PM
I had a stash of bits and pieces of vintage jewelry, buttons, beads and other whimsical little things.

I got bored, took out my hot glue gun and embellished a wooden cigar box.

It came turned out to be a fun piece!

5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My first amigurumi!!! on: July 24, 2007 02:43:24 PM
I had so much positive support at my first big crocheting project (my granny square blanket in bright colors) that I kept it.  I have been dying to make amigurumi animals and have amassed quite a collection of cute japanese books.  I finally figured out how to follow directions - crochet is a very forgiving craft - just pull out stitches if you make a mistake!

From Mr Funky's Crochet book here is my version of their hamster, beret, bag and all!

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / I WILL learn to crochet! Gotta start somewhere on: July 10, 2007 01:26:46 PM
I am just dying to learn how to crochet all of the cute amigurumi animals and food!   I have crochet envy.  So I gathered some yarn and some hooks.  Took a few lessons from my mom and referred to some books and online tutorials.

Got the basic SC, etc.. down so I started the granny's.  And kept going.  Guess I am going to make a blanket.  Not the best colors to go in my house and the store ran out of the green.  But who cares?  I am crocheting!

I gave my mother a panda amigurumi pattern that I had.  She just whipped it up in no time!
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Stuffed Mushroom on: June 28, 2007 05:18:56 AM
Meet Mr. FunGuy  (get it?  Fun Guy - Fungi?)  I made him for a swap - my swap partner likes mushroom motifs so this was my interpretation.

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Altered Flower Pin on: May 09, 2007 09:04:52 PM
This is my first attempt at posting a pic - keeping my fingers crossed...

I have been making pins using recycled vintage jewelry and silk flowers.  They look great on everything from t shirts and jackets to tote bags.
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Cinco de Mayo ideas on: April 30, 2007 07:54:48 PM
Yes, it is almost last minute.  Any ideas for a Cinco de Mayo themed party (for adults?)

Other than serapes, sombreros, and maracas...I need table decorations and other room decor.  Getting ready for the fiesta and need some unique and creative ideas.  Thanks!
10  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Greetings from Sunny South Florida on: April 29, 2007 08:12:06 PM
I am enjoying all of the creative people, posts, and projects on this site!

I have been crafting since I was old enough to make doll furniture from paper cups and Popsicle sticks!  I make jewelry, enjoy all paper crafts ( I miss mail art!)  I just bought a sewing machine and am having fun making things by machine in addition to hand sewing.  Someday I will learn to crochet.
I have to make something every day!

I am still learning the computer languages and methods as to how to post and upload pictures.  I look forward to lots of creativity!
