1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A few dressesand a prom dress! on: May 20, 2008 07:24:47 PM
Well first I'll show off my prom dress. I really loved it afterwards, at first I hated it because it wasn't the color I wanted but the style was spot on so I couldn't pass. so the craft demon came out.
Prom: May 10th
BEFORE

so I grabbed some sequins and sat up on Friday night and sewed until my hands fell off. well until 4am and then woke up early because prom was that Saturday( the dress came in way later then promise)and I still need to sew on the tulle.

so heres the After

I left two panels white due to the fact that
1) I would be dancing all night
2) because it's where the zip was and i was really tired at 4am

MENS shirt Dress
I got this orange and white stripped mens shirt that was 3xl
I can't find the before but trust me it was huge. I made it this weekend and wore it to school yesterday.

process of being made

love this owl and i finally found good use for it.
the shirt was really thin so I had to wear a slip underneath it. but all was good.
I like this dress about and subconsciously I planned to add pockets but some how I sewed up the sides so now they pucker out. I will add them later.

Batman Dress I made when it was still to chilly to wear, but now i can wear it...yeah!
I love batman to bits and I had this ugly simple dress that my aunt got me and I have some batman fabric still left over from years ago. so I put it to good use.

And Finally Pants to Skirt. these pants were my moms but she wouldn't fit anymore. So I wanted to tighten them but then I found a better use.but I can't find the before, but just imagine they are pants

well heres the overload of all the construction I've done over the past few months.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Possible Idea for Tulle dress on: April 08, 2008 10:17:56 PM
So I got this idea in my head that involves purple tulle.
I'm considering getting this nice purple dress that has silk purple underneath and dark tulle on top of it. It's cute and really simple. i want to jazz  it up with leopard print tulle. but for the life of me I can't find leopard print tulle anywhere. and then it hit me. maybe I should put the leopard print spots on top of the purple tulle. One thing though I don't know what paint, or fabric paint to use that will stick on tulle?, and also will the design tun out all wonky, and look like bad black spots.

has anyone ever tried doing painted/sprayed prints on tulle?
and if so any tuts or instruction on how to go about doing it?

I have it envisioned in my mind but I don't know how it will turn out.

I did do a search but I couldn't find anything that answered my question.
3  California / California: Central / DRESS FORM in FresNO? on: July 09, 2007 02:49:35 PM
So I went out to buy fabric yesterday at Handcocks Fabric and JoAnns(way to far for me..grrrr we need another one).
So while I was browsing for fabric I saw these lovely dress forms and decide I would eventually need one and I check the price for the one at JoAnn's. Nearly $200 Shocked way to much for my little, little, little paycheck
Handcock Fabrics has one for $129.99 reasonable but man...

Are there other places I can check that might sell dress forms in FRESNO?

I'm going to try downtown fresno since I go down there a lot. They might have something or ask around.

4  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / My Lovely new shoes! on: June 06, 2007 05:46:53 PM
NEW shoes:
I can't find the before picture but this took me a week to do, well a week and a half since I got lazy after a while. but they are those cheap black shoes from Walmart.I've had them for way too long and decide to paint them.  I used acrylic paint and coated them with interior and exterior varnish.

Pink Leopard Print.
