A funny crafty graphic on The Onion. I think we crafters have finally arrived!

Her name is Mimi. The hardest part was her hair--can someone point me toward some more in-depth tutes on how to do the hair? I still love her and I'm going to make more. I started her last week while watching the premiere of Project Runway, so maybe it's fitting to start another one tonight during the new show.

and I thought those things have to be about the easiest thing to make. But what would you use for the wipe-able liner? Is there a type of fabric out there that would work for holding food?

Here's a purse I did with really long handles and my first zipper. I had a lot of trouble with the zipper and it still got a bit messed up, but I'm anxious to try it again.

I've had this old-timey black velvety dress with lace collar for years and it looks like a tent on me, so I never wear it. I like the old-fashioned feel to it, but I don't know what to do with it. Change it into a costume? Any thoughts? If I do make a costume with it,  who would I go as? What time era is it even reminiscent of? Or can I change it around and make it into something else I can wear as "regular" clothes? Sorry I'm so clueless about it--I'm just drawing a total blank and really need some brainstorming ideas. THANKS!!!
