okay i searched the entire forum and nothing came up for folded bloom cards or bloom flower cards or whatever else i tried. my sister wants to do this for her wedding invites but wants us to make them ourselves, which i'd rather do anyway...but the point is i can't get the half circles perfect so does anyone have a tutorial for them? i feel like there has to be a super easy way and i'm just not getting it right. http://www.mygatsby.com/product.jsp?ProductID=410986
would anyone be interested in a positive affirmations or compliments swap. a boost my self esteem type deal? kind of like the post secret swap but instead of sending secrets, we'd send each other compliments, uplifting quotes, and/or words of encouragement. i was just thinking how much i love the post secret swap, and imagine how good it would feel to hit the mailbox and get a card that says "i stalked your gallery, your (project) was awesome!"
i work in a daycare and have a very small pre school class, my kids are 3 and 4. i want to make something different this year for our parents. obviously the project can't be crazy hard cause my class is so young, and sadly i've got my right (dominate) arm in a cast so i can't do a lot to help them. does anyone have any cute ideas for us to make this week? i only have a full class twice before valentine's day and their attention spans are difficult to deal with so i'm really at a loss for something new. we did picture frames for christmas so i don't want to do them again. ANY suggestions would be great, thanks!
Here's what I put together for my step brother and his fiancee for Christmas. I wasn't expecting to have to make anything for them cause we've never exchanged gifts in the past, so it wasn't what I would have liked to have done, but with the time I had it's all I could do.
2 guest list pages
5 pages of notes
i put it in a 3 ring binder, i got the kind you can slide a page into the cover and that's what the first picture is.
I am currently decorating a new preschool room at the daycare where I work and we can NOT get anything to stick to the freaking walls. (It's only a problem in this one room) We've tried duct tape, masking tape, and poster putty. Everything I need to hang up is either laminated or contact papered.
We can't use tacks or nails because of state regulations and we're at a total loss as to what to use. Any ideas?
so i just found out that my step brother and his fiancee are bringing me a few gifts for christmas this year, we've never exchanged gifts before so i was caught off guard. my idea was to put together a very simple book to help them organize and plan their upcoming wedding. i know that's more a gift to sarah than my stepbrother but i know they will both appreciate the fact that it's something from the heart rather than just a gift card to walmart or whatever.
my problem is i've never planned a wedding and if i do end up getting married someday my only requirements are that everyone shows up barefoot and we're on a beach. so i'm not really sure what kind of pages to include and do i go super simple with a 3 ring binder type book or go for a scrapbook feel? while my gut says scrapbook my wallet and calendar say "the simpler the better." and if i do go for a scrapbook feel would a spiral bound plain book be too...plain? my grandma is giving them a wedding album for christmas so i don't really want to make it a wedding scrapbook, so much as a planning tool, but something she can keep and look at from time to time.
I was thinking i definitely need the following:
page for engagement details--date, time, place, pics page with details--date, time, place page for guest list-- page for attendants-- page for location--i thought they could put a pic of the church? page(s) for reception--time, place, guest list, menu page of flowers--what she's considering, what she finally picks page with an envelope for cards of vendors she's visited?
and if i go with a scrapbook i could add a page or two for her bridal shower and maybe bachlorette/bachelor parties? and maybe even a page each for them to tell the engagement story, like when Mike decided that Sarah was the one, or what Sarah remembers about the day Mike proposed?
i really need help sorting out my thoughts and plans for this, i'm in that overly excited to get started stage but kinda lost as to how to begin.
(i just realized for the actual wedding present i'll be making them a scrapbook called "the first year of our marriage" with pages for all the big firsts!)
i know that's kind of a lot of example pages, but i just started crafting and i'm pretty stoked with how well this book turned out. now if i can get rid of my cold i can finally go meet the baby and give them this book!
my very first attempt at making my nephew a bloody mummy. turned out pretty good. i used black, grey, purple and green eye shadows. along with gel blood. the scabby looking pieces of skin are toilet paper soaked in corn syrup and covered in the gel blood.
